This was wonderful!

I loved how the whole game was built around overlapping physical pieces. It would have been easy to render simple text boxes over puzzle screens, but tying the story to brochures, letters, etc. alongside the star map really connected me to the story. And it was so rewarding to see a zoomed-out view of the entire table once the map was completely reconstructed.

The constellation reconstruction puzzles were really cool and unique! I wish the criteria for "solving" a section was a little more strict - I accidentally locked in a few matches while I was rearranging the negatives in the play area as I prepared to work on a different part of the map. But the process of actually filling in the gaps was very satisfying when I did finally identify the overlapping stars.

I also managed to soft lock myself on the first puzzle by placing a photo directly on the top of the journal. I could not move it again because of the dialogue, and needed to reload the page to liberate my puzzle piece!

The music was appropriately soothing, and the art was incredible. I am not an artist, but the "fuzzy lines" and color choices made the game feel very thoughful and welcoming. It is so impressive that your team was able to work together on such a cohesive package in such a short amount of time. Well done!

Thank you so much!! Apologies for the delayed response. Been very busy the past few days.

I do find it impressive that you accidentally locked in a few pieces but totally get what you mean. And thank you for the kind words on the art and music!! Much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the game.

Super wholesome game, I wasn’t ready for the feelings when I started it!

Puzzles felt nice (after I remembered that you can rotate, my bad on that) and the story to back it up is charming!

Kinda wish there was more to it, could spend hours on games like this.

Graphically it hits home as I really like the rough “pencil/crayon” like brushes in art and the splash arts are amazingly executed, well done!

Background track is also a beautiful piece, I could gaze at the sky for hours playing it. Amazing job!

Thank you so much for the kind words!! I'm glad you liked it. If there was more time we definitely would've had more puzzles haha.

Wow. That was absolutely beautiful. I'm amazed that you made that in just a week. So much work has gone into every aspect of the game. The visuals, audio, pacing, atmosphere, and story are all just perfect. Thank you for creating this!

Thank you so much, this really made my day!

Awwww thank you so much. This is awesome to hear!! Luckily a couple of us on the team had a couple days off the week of the jam so that helped. Really appreciate the kind words and glad you liked it!

Wow, beautiful art, sound, and story! I was surprised at the difficulty I had with a seemingly simple concept, but it really did engage me and demanded I finish the game. I won't lie, a couple negatives I had to sort of spam right-click while dragging it around the screen after spending 5 minutes trying to find it's rightful spot, haha. But I don't find that a fault of the game, it's just a skill issue on my part. Love the ideas and heart in this game, well done Acorn Jelly!

This is a very clever and touching game, and the art and music really pull it together! I ended up having to reset a few time though, because placing negatives over the journal made it impossible to pick them back up.

Thank you so much for the kind words and for the honesty! We're aware of that particular bug and just ran out of time to patch it out, but we may revisit.

Developer

Thank you!! Like Elli said, we discovered the bug but unfortunately ran out of time to address it. I think we had it happen to us on the last day of the jam. Thank you for playing though and so glad you liked it!

The game seems well done, but I am ashamed to admit I don't get what I am supposed to do, I muddled through the first one but no luck on the second. If you can give me a bit more explanation on what to do. Then I'll rate after that, thanks.

Developer

Oh interesting. I'll update the tutorial on the jam page to be clearer then. You are to fill in the gaps to the missing constellations with the existing photo negatives. The photo negatives have the missing stars plus existing stars on the map to help you figure it out. Each constellation is based on an adventure Nan and Maggie took but the map has been ruined. Thanks for checking it out! :)

Oh man what a perfect game jam game. Fully realized in every way, especially story, and I’m glad it didn’t overstay its welcome. A+ folks.
