Love this
Thank you!
I really appreciate the idea, it was easy to grasp and fun to play! I'm afraid I'll to have to agree with other posters before me in saying that the difficulty is quite high: I'm not very good with shooters so thi was particularly tough for me!
As a suggestion, in case you wish to continue development, you make more diverse enemies, some of them with lower abilities (for example lower firing rate or less powerful enemies). If you show up only the "weak" enemies first, you get a more gentle learning curve and a more enjoyable and diverse experience! Win Win!
I still don't know if I want to expand this game further or just take the concept and use it for something else (maybe a zombie game or something, I mean, the possibilities are endless). But yea, if I will ever do that, making more diverse enemies would certainly be an idea!
For now I just have to work on making these ones the "basic enemies".
Anyway, thanks a lot for playing the game and leaving a feedback!
This game is way too hard! The aim of the enemies is too sharp and the player has too little space and time to dodge anything. It needs some balancing.
Good time tho and well done!
Yea, I know. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to test it properly, I would have need the time to pass the game to someone who could test it for me and give me some feedback. Anyway, you're not the first one complaining about the difficulty of the game, so I actually already balanced it. I can't publish the latest version yet because of the jam still going, but I will do it first thing first when it's over!
Hi, let's talk about the game. The projectiles need to be more dodgeable, it will make the game much more fun. As it is facing off against 1 or 2 enemies isn't difficult but soon enough my screen fills up with viruses. Are they viruses? And why are the floating men barraging me with them. I know I'm nitpicking but this game doesn't really make sense, there's no correlation between the title and the actual game. But let's move onto something that actually matters. I suppose that the enemies spawn in a fixed manner, which isn't noticeable when the screen is as chaotic as it gets in this game, but variety and unpredictability are always nice. I said that the enemies feel like they're floating, to fix this I recommend making them look at the player, or rather to look in the player's direction. So flip the sprite on the X axis, depending on the player's X position. I also didn't get too far so I don't know if there are more enemies. I also feel like the game is too claustrophobic, which emphasizes the said difficulty problem. The main reason is that the enemies have a high fire rate and the projectiles are also quite big. I also find the grenades to be unusable, since they take a long time to explode and when they do the enemies will have already changed position; I don't know how large the explosion radius is but I don't think it helps in this case. All and all this was a good effort, well done.
I mean, I only had like three days to work on this completely alone ahahah Anyway:
In any case, thanks very very much for your feedback and your suggestions! I really appreciate them! And, of course, thank you for playing my game!
I used to be killer at Berzerk and Robotron, but this game kicked my ass. Fun game, though. Needs a bit of difficulty level tweaking.
Thanks a lot! Yea, I didn't have time to properly test the game, unfortunately, but I already worked on the difficulty balancement a little bit. Once the jam is over, I will upload a new version of the game!
Haha that was really tough but I like the theme and the music a lot! Maybe make the enemies a bit easier to start and then ramp up the difficulty as time goes on. Either way, great job!
Thanks a lot! Yea, other people already pointed out that the game is too tough. I didn't have time to properly test and balance the game, but I already made a new version which should be a little less frustrating. Once the jam is over, I will upload it!
I really couldn't survive more than 20 seconds, maybe I didn't get the right way to survive, but I really appreciated the mood (rock music fits great). Keep improving it! Well done! ;)
Intense! I like it very much, although a little on the harder side ;)
Controls well and looks nice, but the difficulty ramps up way too fast! I couldn't stay alive for more than 10 seconds. But otherwise, it was a pretty good game.
Thanks a lot! You're not the first person who said the difficulty is too high. Unfortunately I didn't have time to balance the game properly, but I already made a 1.1 version which should be less frustrating. Of course I can't publish it until the jam is over, but I already pushed the code on GitLab.
I look forward to seeing it, good luck!
Very fast-paced, wish the character hitbox was smaller and any spawn rate was slower but otherwise great game!
