Very nice little cut scene! Your mapping skills are on point! I look forward to what you come up with down the line :)
Your game reminded me of my first game jam entry last year (The Fearsome Tale), I kind of prioritized visuals and animations over content and gameplay, and it ended up being incomplete. Seems like the same happened here.
Your project is very very visually pleasing, I got invested right at the start. I imagine you ran out of time, but it happens, really cool character animations and introduction of a story.
If you decide to continue it after Jam, I will definitely play it!
You hit the nail on the head! *Sweat drop*
Great cutscene! I enjoyed watching it and, it made me very curious about the story. Thanks for sharing :)
Art looks nice. Decent use of animations. In-game cursor is impressive for VXA. No obvious spelling/grammar errors. I hope you can finish the story.
Oh btw where did you get all the playground art? ie swing and merry go round and stuff.
Most of the playground is straight from Pandamaru's stuff for VX Ace. -- https://pandamaru.de/index.php/downloads/rpg-maker-vx-ace/rpg-maker-vx-ace-tiles...
The swing, however, is something I made (following a similar design Nicnubill had) because I needed everything to be allowed for commercial use if the cutscene was to be allowed for the 'Let's Make a Scene' contest on the RM forums. I plan to release it for everyone's use soon.
I liked the opening scene... after that the credits took longer then the game lol. Could have had something here with all the art you have and the swingset animation is point on!
Glad you liked something :P (I guess I should have made the credits move faster, essentially the last addition to the game)
I honestly wasted a bit too much time making the various animations, lol. (since at that point I was nearly out of time :P) Really needed to have figured out what I wanted to do much earlier, and not let myself get discouraged by missing deadlines! But at least I'm mostly glad with how the swinging animation turned out.
Mine are long for the length of my game as well :P
It is a pretty cool cutscene, the mouse icons changing was a cool thing too. I think you could make some really awesome cutscenes for a full game. I would recommend adding screenshots of this to its itch page.
I suppose updating the page wouldn't be a disqualifier :P
I'm so glad you liked it, btw!
