Really great "space social network simulator"! Lot of humor and little stories all around!

Developer

glad you liked it! ty for playing <3

Beautiful! I love seeing each mini narrative grow over time. The whole aesthetic is lovely too! 😊

Developer

thank you so much! We had something very specific in mind for the mini narratives and aesthetic so I'm glad it came together!

Who said a visual novel has to look like a text box that covers one-third of a background image with some anime characters popping up? It can definitely be like StarGayzer: a piece of space you see through a telescope and view social media on it.

Developer

a fresh take on a well loved genre!

All the posts were fun and good written, really liked the selection of reaction emojis!

Developer

thank you!! I also personally love the emojis, we wanted ones that were more of a blank slate so that people could ascribe their own meaning to them

Wonderful writing! Very much gave the vibe of far away internet friends.
Some got a good chuckle as well, wonderful work!

Developer

tysm!! A handful of the posts were written by other jam participants so thank you to them too!

Have you played Kind Words? That's what it reminded me of, a game that was great help for me when covid struck. I love it that you captured some of it's essence.

It's great to see a game with a refreshing and unique approuch, thank you for the experience :)

I haven't played it but I'll check it out for sure! I'm glad you enjoyed it <3

This game is really cool, definitely one of my favourites. Navigating the space with the telescope is a cool idea and fun to do and I love the UI design as well. Only the small font was maybe a bit hard to read sometimes.
For some reason, even though the game is set in the future, it made me feel a bit nostalgic for the old days of social media, when everything felt more weird and exciting and less commercial :D

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, we're considering making it a larger game so it's appreciated!

Definitely one of the joys of curating a social media experience is getting to decide what's on there.  I'm glad you felt a connection with it!!

Submitted

Awesome, if you are making a larger game, may I suggest adding a constellation mechanic of any sort. Star constellations make everything better :D

Developer

Actually I like that a lot! I'll see what I can do c:

I loved the concept with the stars for social media posts! the music was so lovely as well

Developer

Thank you so much! For real, we didn't make the music but while I was working on the game I often just had it running in the background just so I could work while the music was playing. It paired with our game nicely I think!
