this was brilliant! the harmonies are really lovely, and the instrumentation was nicely chosen and evolved in a really nice way throughout the piece, especially during all those hit points! Super engaging piece to listen to and fit the scene really well! :)

Your comments are very encouraging. Thank you so much for listening and for your kind words!

I gave this solid 5's and let me say why: on-point like my own situation where I correctly figured out that there were pacing segments in the video, but you went way beyond it with the layering.  The symphonic hits early on in the piece were classic, and the technical care to put this together in the video really puts it over the top.  This was a decent margin better than my own submission and that needs to be recognized.

Simply hugely impressed.

Wow big thanks for that super generous comment! I really did put a lot of thought into this, so it feels really great that you were able to notice that.

But let's not downplay your work. I really enjoyed listening to your track, too. Very creative sound design indeed!

Great piece! I liked how it changed and evolved as the piece went on, honestly it's something I think I could've done better in mine, but yours really feels like it takes me on a journey. Only thing is, I thought a few parts, such as  the trumpets at 2:26 at could be brought "further back" in the mix. Great work overall, thanks for sharing.

Really appreciate your time.

I must have a really bad setup because others are hearing things I can't hear on my monitors. I need to listen on more devices perhaps. Lol

Yeah, mixing the music is something I'm still working on as well. So far what I've found to work is writing music while wearing my best headphones (which are only medium-good quality) and I'll get it pretty close, but then I'll listen to it in my car because it has better quality than my headphones to do the fine tweaking.

I definitely don't think your setup is terrible because the piece was very good overall. Unfortunately it can sound perfect on your system and then sound just a little off on another just due to the way electronics are. I agree that listening on more devices will help minimize that issue. Good luck making music!

I see. Ya big thanks for your input. Mixing truly is a tough skill to develop. I've been at it for less than a year, but I'm pretty proud of how far I've come. Hoping to really level up in the next few years

Solid track, captures the emotional impact of the scene very well.

I would however spend a little bit more time on the alignment: bring the score together with the visual cues. A few impactful shots had no music support (for the change happend too early/too late). Maybe trying to get away from the 8bar can help you. If the scene calls for it, you can do 7 or 9 (or even fractionals, if you're feeling particularily spicy :D), and noone would bat an eye.

Also, choir seems to be a bit too much "in your face", I'd bring it down and slap a reverb or two on that.

But again, solid track. Works well with the scene and stands it's ground on it's own.

Big thanks. You gave really good feedback on this one.

I'm sure this goes for a lot of us, but if I could've put more time into this I would've been able to really polish this up. But that's how it goes with these things.
