Solid shooter! I like how the realistic boss sprites contrast with the simple background shapes. It gives off an indie internet game vibe that's perfect on itch.
I like the shooting mechanics, but I think the player isn't given enough room to dodge bullets. As someone else noted, it's basically impossible to complete the game without getting shot. I think if the bullet patterns had more space between bullets for the player to weave around them, it would feel more fair.
I'm not a fan of the moving colors on the terrain. I actually feel motion sick while moving through the level - probably because the colors move up and down.
Overall, solid entry!
Thanks !
Yeah, just a different approach.. for me it's about keeping enough energy throughout to give yourself a chance at the boss. Actually I was going to put health pickups in there, but totally forgot to :)
(the crazy colors are there to make my gfx look less bad!)
nice game! fantastic colors, funny theme
As a coffee-lover and enjoyer of puns, I’m predisposed to like this. Only downside was the cycling colors everywhere were a bit too distracting. Quote enjoyable side-scrolling shooter.
Haha, that's so much fun. Not sure how relevant to the theme but pretty fun shooter.
And the whole visual effects, interesting but got me whoozie very easilly. I managed to beat the final boss regardless.
haha I was trying to do a pun with coffee grounds.. the beans are under..ground. and you need to grind them. It was a lot of work for a pun which didn't work 😂
Nice game and very solid use of the platform.
My criticism is, that it seems to me that there is no way to beat this game without taking any damage.
The constant change of colours is impressive but too "psychedelic?" for me.
P.S.
For some reason, it reminded me of Jodorowsky.
He made movies as the equivalent of psychedelic drugs.
Well, this is an equivalent game...
