How did you choose to implement the Theme: Song of the Sea in your game?
My game includes a siren as an enemy. Parts of the story also allude to singing/siren's songs.

Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
The high seas theme is implemented in that the player can swim and the game takes place in a location at sea.

The watery grave theme is implemented in that the player can drown and be killed by water themed monsters.

The sapphire bracelet is incorporated through a key item that the player needs to progress.

Did you create your game in RPG Maker?

Yes

Watched Hawk's stream on this- it looked so eerie and anxiety inducing!! I absolutely loved the usage of the 3d/first person dungeon crawler theme! I also loved the old bit-style music and TTS voice for the prisoner(s)! It was very detailed and definitely scary as hell! Really awesome work all around! Definitely would've benefited from a map like others have said, but I'm not sure how that would work in a game like this- or maybe at least some more striking land marks or wall things to make it stand out a little more where the player is?

The ending felt a bit underwhelming despite the rush to get out, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing considering the time constraints etc.

Either way, nice work!! :>

I love LOVE dungeon crawlers, and this was so very well done. My only complaint was a lack of an automap (an RM limitation, to be sure) but otherwise, this was short and sweet.

Very impressive stuff, I had no idea 3d was possible in the newer versions of rpg maker, and the 1 bit graphics made it look great. It reminded me of beyond the labyrinth, a dungeon crawler for the 3ds that I've played very very little.

As others have mentioned, level 2 can be a bit tricky with the monster stun-locking you in place, it took me a while to get through that part. About levels 3 and 4, I had a small issue with timing my hits where I had to press the button way earlier to get the marker in the blue section, I don't know if it's a bug or rpg maker web builds not being very good in general, if I have some time I'll test the downloadable version

I liked the way this controls, you can kinda buffer turning as you advance so that makes movement feel smoother and not as limited as in old megami tensei games and similar stuff.

The way the ost picks up made me think that initially I was running out of time in the first level, and at the same time reminded me a bit of corpse party, which is neat.

Overall, great job, I feel like this has lots of potential to be fleshed out with different mechanics and turned into a full/longer game

Ohh this was fun!! These kinds of games always remind me of that old windows screen saver with the maze haha. It feels very nostalgic. I also struggled with level two - but mostly cuz the first time I got to that point I left back to the first level (because the prisoner told me the way I'd come was the best path and I took it too literally haha) and when I reentered level 2 I was stuck on a black screen. But knowing that and with a fresh start it took me a few tries but was eventually doable. I love the style of the art! It's very clean and clear. I feel like with these kinds of maps it's easy for it to be too overwhelming and I think you found a good balance. I liked how all the items "turned" to face the player as you moved around haha. A probably unintended but still cute aspect of it.

I thought the layout of the areas was well done, I usually felt like I knew where I was going. The music was nice and not too repetitive. I completely get what you mean about this game being a learning experience and not something you're going to follow up on much, I approach game jam games very similarly. This little jam community is a great avenue for that, lots of nice people happy to chat with you about mechanics and balance! I've learned a TON since I joined the discord and started doing these regularly.

Ok, so I've finished the game and I really liked it! Great job!

The second level is the worst part of the game. The monster is too hard, especially for the first enemy you face and the only one you can't fight against. You can find a spear in the first level right next to the key, yet it seems like it's useless? I think it would be better if whatever is chasing you there also had the "struggle mechanics" introduced later on. There's a lot of narrow corridors in the second level and once the monster catches you, you are basically done. The "struggle mechanic" really makes the game much better. I think most people who will try this game won't get past level 2, which is a huge shame.

The third level was a bit disappointing. It's very sparse compared to the other levels. Cool red color scheme aside, it's full of huge, empty rooms and hallways leading nowhere in particular. This level could use some more detail added and maybe also a "boss fight" with the torturer mentioned in the intro.

Regarding the third level, it's also not clear that what you are supposed to do is defeat the siren a bunch of times. I basically spent 20 minutes running around the place, trying to avoid her as best I could and in the end only got the bracelet by accident. Maybe have another note there that explains what you need to do, the only note I found basically just told you that the sapphire bracelet exists.

Fourth level was the one that needed a minimap the most. It was really easy to get lost there and you have limited air, so, really frustrating. I'd suggest having the bubbles that lead to a next area a different color, maybe golden? That should at least tell the player that they are on the right track. Also, the tentacle didn't actually damage you. The game says it did, but your HP stays the same afterwards, which seems to be a bug.

Aside from the previous criticism, I liked basically everything else. This is a really cool game and I'm looking forward to what else you plan to make in the future!

I really like the vibe of this game. One thing it could use is a minimap.

Level 2 water monster is really hard to escape from, once it catches you you are basically dead. Especially since it seems to block movement and hard to see.

I like dungeon crawler. It quite difference from normal RPG maker game.

I lost in the dungeon and cannot go further on level 2. It is very hard to escape from Monsters.

Overall : Good creative, music match with tone, 100% on Theme.
