This was so sweet!! I felt so attached to the main character by the end. The slow unfolding of what happened worked really well. It had a campy feel to it, in a way it almost reminded me of Clue haha. The old building, the rich people shenanigans etc. I had a lot more fun too once I realized I was actually playing the correct game!! ( I think I remember seeing you in Hawks chat when I vented about downloading the wrong game?? So silly haha). I only caught a little of Hawk streaming it, his voices crack me up lol.
I had some issues with the running around / battle scenes but I'm often bad at those kind of "quick" parts of games. I often panic and mess up. So I don't try to hold any issues in that regard against games. The UI was really nice and polished looking. I don't think I ran into any major bugs.
The art was really cute and it all fit together really nicely. Everyone had such a distinct look and were easily memorable and had good expressions. I know (like Hawk said) the body proportions weren't "correct" in many places but to me art is more about story telling and vision. If it tells your story and looks the way YOU want it to look, everything is valid! As in to say, for me, art should not be about striving for "correctness" but striving for achieving what you see in your mind with greater and more exacting skill. And the art here looked intentional and told the story. And I loved her dress haha!! Very Belle vibes lol. All in all, I enjoyed this! Felt like a cozy creepy movie I'd pop on on a rainy sunday. The ending was sad but made sense. *SPOILERS* (Poor Marcus....). Really cool and impressed at how much you've got done!!! Stoked to play your other entry as well.
Thanks so much BroodyGaming! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed the game, the story and arts despite the flaws haha! I do love your input regarding art and how we should not only strive for correctness but also to achieve what you mind sees! I feel inspired by that as a starting artist, so thank you for the wonderful and kind words! But yeah! I'm very happy too that my intention for it to be a short cozy but creepy/eerie mystery horror game hit the mark for you, at least in that aspect! Thank you so much once again, BroodyGaming! I appreciate the comments and words of encouragement! I plan to get to try your game too as well and the other entriesl!! <3 ^^
