How did you choose to implement the Theme: City of Adventure in your game?
The main characters are answering the call from the planet to travel to the main elemental city of Akasha for their ordination. When they get there they learn the artifacts needed for the ritual were taken and they must find them and return them. I guess you can say they are having an adventure in this city.

Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
I tried to go for Urban Fantasy, but I'm not sure how much tech vs magic must be involved for that, so I'm not sure if I got it right.

Hi nice entry :) with very charming handmade art, it would be great to see that as a consistent style throughout.

Story wise it was nice, it seemed like you were setting up a vast and interesting world and there is a lot you can build off from this entry. Including with the characters not just having thier different elements but different personalities as well :)

Gameplay wise I thought the chests were nicely spread out to promote the player getting away from the obvious path to explore the maps a bit. The battles were straightforward but focusing on the rock paper scissor formula with the elements fit well with the world you were setting up. I did find myself escaping a good portion of the small battes as the non-boss battles were a tad bit long for me personally when considering the presented mechanics. While others may appreciate the longer battles, I did like that you provided options to alter the battle frequency or escape without penalty.

Thumbs up, and congrats on the submission!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I really appreciate it.  Combat is still my weakest area, so I leave the options open in my plug in for the player to adjust. I do not like escape penalties either, I do not ever think I'm going to do that. In my options menu, you should be able to adjust randoms, and if you can open the menu, you should be able to save anytime. I also have the autosave trigger on leaving an area, and after every successful battle.

With my art, I'm mostly just trying to improve. I am still struggling with objects and scenery, but the story is intended to be part of something bigger, and to complete the jam on time, I had to cut a lot of character development. I plan on coming back to these after expanding my game portfolio, so I can improve on them more. I feel like there is so much more I can do for my games. These game jams motivate me to just get something done and out there. Thank you so much for playing my game!

I played a little bit of the Call because the character art for this was very unique and it was a good draw to showcase their appearances first and foremost in this game. The Battle System is pretty standard [not a bad thing] although I had trouble figuring out how turn-system works in it. It isn't like the FtB battle system where you can pick who attacks and who doesn't as each character has a fair chance for one turn at least but you have occasions where characters attack more than once which is a little peculiar in my honest opinion. The tilesets I was pretty mixed on. On one hand the Earth town in my opinion was the best designed but I it was also the smallest one in my mind. Was curious on why the characters were still in a moving animation during cutscenes where they were talking but didn't exactly turn towards the Air/Fire enemy. There was also a passability issue I found on the map.

The character bust art doesn't exactly reflect their sprites which I usually am more nitpicky on but because this was for a Game Jam and the priority seemed to be on the battle system and the story [the best part of the game imho] I wouldn't be too upset about it unless you angle for a larger project.

Storywise I like it a lot. Gives me a little bit of W.I.T.C.H. in the girls get a mission from their higher ups to dispose of an enemy [I guess it would more accurately be like Totally Spies]. It was easy to understand though I would have loved to see more of the world the girls live in and how more fleshed out the girls would have been interacting with the other elements. Overall a fun and simple experience that has potential to become something more.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm trying to learn more about putting my art and stories into games, because I play way more games than I read books. I feel like these jams teach me more than I ever do on my own. Also, I am in process of some redesign and those busts were made before I learned about how to make pictures fit the game engine. I sadly used a lot of older things, because so many unexpected things happened in the past few months >_<... I will definitely use your valuable feedback to help me in the future. I am truly thankful you took the time to write this. Thank you so much!

You are welcome! I sadly had to use older things as well for my Game Jam since Skybound Dreamers Gaiden was the first project I actually had to event! I like these Game Jams as well.
