Fun game nice for every thing.

The game is nice but could use a bit of polish as much as I like the retro aesthetic. Like the voice acting btw :) 1 thing I would suggest is smoothen out the forward and backward movement, perhaps according to a grid. Makes it hard to react preciously when trying to shoot.

Developer

Well... I mean... It's in a grid :D You can't even shoot if you are not straight in one direction (up, down, left, right) unless there's a big I didn't notice.

Come to the stream today and will discuss everything!

I enjoyed the voice acting, and the different levels gave me a really nice sense of nostalgia for flash games with a whole load levels I used to play. :P I know the controls were intentionally clunky, but I agree with FancyHat that they could use some more work to not get in the way of the gameplay.

Thank you for the comment! I'll have a stream today, and talk about how the game was intended to play, and would love to have a conversation how to improve the game!

Pretty cool that you made everything yourself. It's not Hollywood quality, but you can see and hear uniqueness in every part of the game and I bet you already got a bunch of compliments on voice acting as it is always a nice addition, especially if it's done well. Core Gameplay is somewhat getting in its own way as intentionally clunky controls require a lot of work to be done well, which might be out of scope of 30h work. I feel background music could use some subtlety as it is a bit loud and repetitive. Overall I think it's a nice work since the idea is quite unique and fits really well with jams theme, it's just that your scope might be a bit big for the task at hand. Tho there is a lot of dedication felt through out the game and amount of levels is pretty high for a jam.

Attack! Attack! Faster sergeant! Go faster! Stop! :D

The voice over is so cool and funny. It really makes this game. It was also pretty cool seeing you building the sprites with magicavoxel :)

Developer

Officialy, the voice is the unique selling point XD

I have this feeling that the unhandy input is intentional. ;) As the other mentioned, the voices are the funniest part. Nice submission!
