Thanks to everyone who tried and played my game!
The slidding part was actual a hidden bug which didn't show in the editor but in spite of that it led to a (bit more) challenging 2d parkour platformer game for you guys to enjoy. Will maybe later continue with this work and have it as a lvl in another uppcomming game.
This was a great concept - I love the exploration aspect of it. Like others have said, it was a little slippery, however, the game was clearly designed around this. Every time I slipped off a platform, I lost like 5 secs to get back to where I was. I like that you mention where the goal is in the description so I had a sense of where I needed to go. I liked the pixel art, the only addition I'd like to see is a background instead of the blue color. Something silhouetted in the background would fit nicely and add a lot of visual to the game! The only other thing I noticed was that the music should loop. Good song, but once it was done, it was pretty silent.
Overall great job, I enjoyed it!
EDIT - I really liked the credits, a little humor is always good, especially in a jam!
Thank you for playing! Was busy the last 24 hours before the end of the jam, had a new version where the character wouldn't slip max 1 sec deppending on it's current speed. Had bigger plans such as the background you mention however had 3 big problems which led to no time left for the visuals. Thanks also for noticed the music didn't loop.
This was my first jam and also my first 2d game from scratch which was a lot of fun and to hear other developers feedback like yours is encouraging. Will keep it all in mind for my next 2 overlapping jams. ✌
EDIT- Wonderful game you made, quite simpel yet so entertaining and bit difficult.
Congrats on your first game jam! Getting a game submitted is a huge accomplishment, especially in your first jam! I watch a lot of devs on YouTube, Vimlark is a great one to watch, he does a lot of game jams - I've learned a lot from him when doing jams. Little tips/tricks that help with work flow etc. Lots of good stuff out there.
Good luck in your next ones!
I liked this game a lot. The controls felt a bit slippery, but the levels felt like they were built around it and it was nice to play. The music is great and I like the art too. The jumps felt somewhat inconsistent at times, but otherwise, i didn't see any bugs. Great job!
Simple and fun game! Nice music and art. My only complaint is that the jump triggers when the player releases the space bar.
Hello!
Have fixed the space bar so the jump trigger triggers when performed in the new version.
It was a little hard for me to get used to the character controlls, as he was sliding a lot, but once I got used to it, I had fun, and also great art. Overall a great game!
Quite a pleasant pixel art style, the music is pleasant, not irritating, in general it is very pleasant to play. <3
The player character has a lot of personality, nice pixel art throughout.
