its difficult enough to give me the urge to try again everytime, nice work!

What Laser shoot me through wall? Those lasers are to dangerous. Its a very hard and raging game. I like it though. The movement of the player could feel a bit smoother though.

I love how difficult and raging it is. As a rage game, it works. Though sometimes it just feels unfair as it makes you feel like it's the game's fault and not the player's fault. Like the laser's hitbox being a bit big, Bullet's suddenly clipping through walls, Instantly dying after you get to the 2nd level. With the right adjustments, it could well be a really fun game, it has the potential. As someone who also started in scratch, goodluck with your journey!

Its so hard and I love it (I barely made it past first level)

Love it!

  • I love the games difficulty because it feels very fair. Hard and fair are some of the best games ever made. Except occasionally the turrets can shoot through walls, sometimes it because the cannons clip through and shoot and sometimes because bullets clip, which doesn't feel fair.
  • Lol i know the jams about high scores so it makes sense you reset on death, but maybe giving the players a few lives so they can progress through the game. Or a story mode that doesn't reset. I work so hard to progress through a level only to be insta killed at the start of the next.
  • I love how much a learning curve each level has

Thanks for the feedback! I might add your suggestions in a post-gamejam update of some sorts, and I did try to make it so the shooter that follows you can't go through walls but it was very buggy and broke the trail effect, so I just made it go through walls and decreased the time that it shoots

Very hard game but for start of gamedev journey it's really nice, keep it up !!

I didn't have too many issues with the movement.  It's not as smooth as more polished platformers.  But it's still playable.  The hit boxes could be a bit more forgiving, the lasers even hit through platforms.

Nice visuals and animation but I couldn't move my character.

Developer

Thanks! about you not being able to move your character, you need to click on the game so the keyboard controls work, maybe you didn't do that, try again with that in mind!

Yes, that was the case. I played it. Very nice animations but very hard. I would prefer everything to move slower.

I know crappy movement is part of difficult games but combined with this art style it seems less intended and more like random unfinished stuff. I checked and you did it in Scratch and that's your second project on itch.io (at leas from public on this profile) so that's impressive, good luck on your game dev journey
