I think having the zombie stumble if you press the wrong direction would be a good addition to add to the difficulty :) As far as the horror addition, you could have made the player control a human running from the zombies and each time they mess up, tripping over themselves and having another zombie come up would add to the anxiety.

Liked the mechanics on this one! I hoped there was more of a horror element to it.
horror and sports combined is for me a problem to make it really scary.
I found no real punishment for just spamming all the buttons but fun idea with a great soundtrack.
