5 starts for Horror! And very good aesthetics!
This game has the detail that when you moves seems real. Not a linear movement. A lot of 1st person games don't have this effect.
When I arrived to the end of the demo, is not too scary but, until then... For me the scariest game in this jam. Anyway, the end animation is very very good (but not scary). For me, the scene of the ball bouncing in the room is scarier.
If you continue the game, I'll follow you to see that :)
Wow the ending was brutal XD
I literally screamed twice in the game, the first with the ball and the second in the bookstore. I had chills the whole time. The game is dark and that can be frustrating but it's perfect for a really creepy atmosphere. I really liked the breathing sounds in the scariest moments. Overall I have very few points that I will correct, it was a very good experience. The models are very nice and the sound ambiance is top notch. 5/5 one of my favourite fames from this GJ! a shame it does not have a lot of ratings
Thank you very much for trying out the game and for the positive feedback, I worked very hard on the end "gameplay" visuals, I'm glad you liked it (:
I will forward this message to the guy who helped me out with the audio.
Can't believe this has so few ratings, it was great! My two bits of feedback would probably be starting the character off with the first room key so they know where to go (I know it's right there on the desk but on my first playthrough i didn't notice it and wandered around the rooms for ages). And the other thing would just be the bug with the notes where after you pick them up you can't get out without restarting the game. The jumpscares also didn't feel cheap and the game overall had a really good spooky atmosphere. Great work especially for you first game jam!
Thank you so much for your feedback, I think choosing TAB to put away letters was not a good idea but it's in the descriptions.
Thank you for playing and thanks for the tips on how to get started to make it clearer what to do (:
Oooooooohhhhh so it is XD, yeah maybe just a lil prompt at the the bottom saying "press tab to close" + just a lil thing which might be cos of wide screen monitor i can slightly see outside the room in the main menu ( like i can see the skybox outside to the right), just thought I'd let u know, still super good work though
It's really a shame that this game got so little votes! It's actually quite well looking and it's feeling nice to play! I just encountered one bug which left me stuck: when I picked up the letter in Room 101 or so I couldn't stop "looking" at it, I tried everything but it wouldn't go away :/ but besides that great game!
Many people got stuck there I think choosing TAB to put away letters was not a good idea but it's in the description.
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback (:
Oh my bad XD I tried like ESC, MouseClick, Moving around, E, F, Backspace, ... but alright, I didn't read the desc :D maybe pressing the same key in a "toggle" kind of fashion or ESC would be more intuitiv, but this one totally goes on me for not reading properly :'D
Hm, I seem to get stuck in a loop when interacting with a key (and maybe I'm blind but I can't find any keys either)
Thanks for the feedback. (:
Can you explain to me please how and where did you got stuck in a loop while interacting, I will take a look and fix it if there is any bug after the voting ends.
After pressing E to read the note, I couldn't find any way to close the note except pressing E again, which would replay the hand moving upward animation and I'd just end up reading the note again.
It's in the description: TAB to close letters
Very very nice aesthetics in this game! It is very polished too, and the story is intruiging. I didn't make it further than room 108... dunno if there was some way to get further.
If I should point out something that I would've changed, it would have been the piano music, as it made the atmosphere almost cosy for me personally. Like, I was pretty chill playing the game. If you wanna keep that music, I would probably put it somewhere physically in the game (like someone is playing the piano).
Otherwise, extremely positively surprised!
Thanks for the feedback and for the ideas (:
Side info: There are keys hidden in the rooms.
