Wow, you weren't kidding about the difficulty. :D I really dig the lightening effects, very nicely done!
Thank you for playing! :)
Really enjoyable and nice game, well done!
Thank you so much!
Very interesting take on the horror genre! Like others have said, the controls could be better. I really like the gameplay but I think that the hitbox of the crow's attack could be slightly more favorable for the player. The game is already hard :(
I dig the graphics, but they needed to be tweaked a bit. The crow could be slightly brighter or have a brighter outline to contrast it more from the background, especially at the starting area. Also, the window of the castle that the player can fly through can be more obvious that it is opened. The first time I played I tried flying through but clipped the wall a bit. This made me think that it was actually closed and I wasted time trying to find another way through.
Thank you for the comments!
When the gamejam finishes I'll improve the controls and there will be a brightness selector.
At this moment, you can also play with a gamepad.
I like the setting, sounds and theme. However the gameplay and controls took me some time getting used to. Maybe remove the forward movement when pressing space and make it work like a flappy bird mechanic or just make the crow fly in-place. Then press left or right to start accelerating towards that desired direction. When released, the crow decelerates. Also maybe add life-steal to the attack, the red claw effect really made me think of life-steal. So I think your game has an interesting concept and I can see the fun, but needs a bit more polish to gameplay.
Thank you for the comments!
After the gamejam, I'll upload a new version improving the controls, more or less like you said ;)
This is quite the fun game , i noticed some small stuff like the bird falling and landing on the tree which i really liked , its the small stuff for me , overall there isnt much to say , i think maybe having some way of getting the health back would be nice since the map is quite big actually, also liked the atmosphere didnt look repetitive which can happen in a lot of games.
Thank you very much! There are 3 places where you can heal all live. You can find them or you can read them in the game page (if you select text between <spoiler starts> and </spoiler ends>).
If you maximize the minimap (clicking on it) you will see that the map is not too big. To find the rooms, search the windows ;)
Really enjoyable and rewarding game =) Like the aesthetics as well!
Thank you so much! I hope you play the new version after gamejam :)
Looking forward to it!
It took some time to get used to, but it was good. The Lightning was a good one, on the top. Nice aesthetics etc.
Very cool! I really appreciate the player character, the general art style and the difficulty. It was enjoyable learning how to play and getting through the game.
Wow! Thank you!
I'm glad you like it :) After gamejam, I'll upload a new version with better controls, more decoration, new traps, ... It will be nice if you play.
I look forward to it!
It is hard to play it in keyboard, but I like it!! The atmosphere is so good. I will use my controller to play it again! :D
Thank you for playing! I hope you enjoy!
Controls will be improved after gamejam ;)
It played easier on the controller than keyboard. Very punishing game, any tiny error could lead to a violent death, but as Dark Souls fans who have a problem with masochism, that was actually a huge plus :D Really fun game!
That final boss fight though... dude... -.-
Hi! Thank you! I am preparing improvements after the gamejam with your comments. Yeah, CheapeeSoft Games are not easy :)
But, I didn't understand what you think about the final boss. Feel free to tell me how can I do it better, any suggestions will be welcomed. I'll try to improve it.
Actually we loved the final boss. But He was so punishing! Why do you torture us like this? WHY DO WE LIKE IT? :D
I thought you said that the final boss was too easy for you XDDD.
I hope you can enjoy the new version 1.1 after the gamejam. I'll improve with better controls, final boss visually changed, maximize minimap, brightness selection, more decoration, ... and also released on Android devices.
It took me a while to understand how it was attacked, but it is quite original and I like the style!
Thank you for the comment!
Interesting game! The controls took a while to get used to but I like the idea of controlling a crow that way. Good job!
Thank you! I will improve controls in the next version after the gamejam ;)
I like the look and sound of the game, very reminiscent of a mid 90's shareware title, the likes of which I used to play constantly. The controls were a bit clunky and it was hard to maneuver in a fight, so I died quite a bit. If there was a full-length version of this, even if it was still difficult to play, I probably still would play all the way through.
By the way, the controls weren't explained very well. I tried hitting the spacebar repeatedly as though I were flapping my wings. The funny thing is, as soon as I learned I was doing it wrong, I started playing worse...
Thank you for your comment!
I will improve controls in a next version after gamejam. Also, this game will be available for Android devices. At this moment, you could use a gamepad to play with a better feelings.
Anyway, feel free to suggest how you would do it better.
The controls were very interesting, I really felt as if I was the crow! The lightning killed me a number of times!
Thank you for your comment! It's impossible to cross the towers with lightning (these sites appears in the minimap, up-left). I did it to force player to go inside the castle crossing a door or a window.
Spooky environment and visual effects. Once I got the hang of the controls it was fun, but I noticed there were times when I killed a bat from above and still took damage. I'm not sure if it's working as intended but it made it difficult to progress. Great job!
Thank you for the comment! The crow has body and paws. Try to attack with the paws(highlighted in red) without touching enemies with the body. There is no problem with ghosts, they damage you only with their expansive waves.
I like that you are playing as a crow :D also great looks!
Thank you! Good luck with your game :)
It looks great I was very excited to play it. I played using keyboard and the controls felt very clunky. If the controls where a bit more responsive this would have been an amazing game.
Thank you for your comment! I'll try to improve them. Anyway, maybe you feel better controls using a gamepad ;)
Yes it does fill better with a controller. Still felt like the controls were fighting me a bit but maybe that is by design or maybe I am just not very good at it.
Crow flying is making me chilling XD Attaking from air is cool!
Thanks for the game!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the game.
The game is short and if you overcome the level please, only tell me that! :)
Controls are weird in a cool way, I like the jumping start before flying
Thank you! I've tried to create real movements like a bird but also playable like a platform game.
I really love the red effect on the crow, and the flying mechanic feels awesome! Good job.
Thank you! I used that red effect on the crow to see it better on a dark background and there is a red particles effect to show the paws when you attack.
