oh my goodness this is amazing. the audio and ambiance, the art, the voice acting, sam and maries relationship- 10/10 all around
I usually never go for graphic novel style of games but this one oozes style. Love the art direction, plot, and sound. Really well done!
the prose and the art go so well together to set the perfect mood for this game. there's also a lot of little details that nod towards the twist without being too overt, like the paint colors. and i don't know if it was intentional, but there's a lot of little victorian mourning and death and funeral customs i saw here and there in the game! overall you made a really lovely gn and i had a lot of fun reading/playing it!
Thank you so much, I'm happy you enjoyed it!
I didn't look too deeply into mourning customs before writing it so a lot of it was just a happy accident, haha, but I'm glad you picked up on the foreshadowing bits!
What a fantastic art style, really built off the gameplay so well. Amazing stuff!!
Thank you so much!
The graphics of this game were so beautifully drawn, and the story so well-crafted too. Bravo!!
Thank you kindly!
This might be my favorite of the jam. The art, music and sounds worked great with the tone of the story.

Sam is sympathetic, but don't let your insecurities make you a monster, folksspoilersThank you for playing, I'm really happy you enjoyed it!
really talented art! and game concept amazing, enjoyed it! Play also mine, its delicious Halloween chasing)
Oh that was wonderfully gothic. Loved the art and the writing. The wheel animation was especially visceral without being too explicit.
It's a game jam so you def didn't have the time to make all the choices "matter" but even so, it's really incredible.
If only branching didn't take so much extra thought and time, haha. But thank you so much for playing, glad you enjoyed it!
You still managed to get a LOT done, and the whole story is cohesive and haunting!
BRUH. that was deliciouso
very tasty sound design (i played with the clicky sounds on the menu for like a solid 30 seconds lol)
that + the beautiful prose really helped the atmosphere in my mind
art of course also delicious

yo i know hes been dead for a year but why he kinda segsy?(spoilers)LMAO this made my day, thank you!
WOW. I am blown away. That was one hell of a ride.
I got the second ending first, and it felt very solemn. I don't know what I think about that. I really got captured by the whole thing. You have done a fantastic job of making the music, art and text fit together, it's incredibly immersive.
Some feedback (very much personal taste here):
I really liked the differences in the endings. However, it did hurt the immersion when I had to restart, and skip through a large part before coming to what I wanted. (now it gets very opiniony) I think it could have been more immersive to have one cohesive storyline, but with smaller branches in it. I have no clue how that would work, considering how different the endings are, but it's an idea. There are also some points where the text feels a bit awkward / out of character. Mostly the text that is red, because of the pace that it is written out in. Also a lot off stuff in caps generally looks a bit too "discordy" / meme related for me to be able to take it seriously.
Overall, I fucking adore this, and appreciate that it's been made. Keep doing awesome stuff!
Thank you so much for the feedback!
I feel you on the pacing, ideally I would've liked to have the endings unfold organically rather than a hard choice at the end, but I couldn't think of a way to fit it into a story already so short--maybe next time! I'm really happy you enjoyed it as it is, though, thanks again for playing!
This how I feel when trying to finish a project.
Absolutely Gothic.
