  • I could only get as far as the room suffocating you when you get the krampus statue, so I'm not sure if you're supposed to reload the game to continue. If so, the intro is a bit long to watch every time. Tried using the items in my inventory and made some kind of corrupted krampus, but I was still stuck, so it might have been a bug. Still, I have to commend the idea, the use of the theme, and the well drawn backgrounds. I see the beginnings of a really good point and click adventure

How does your submission fit the jam's theme?
The central mechanic features a item that manipulates, corrupts, and changes various objects in the world, similar to a Vinesauce corruption

I'm stuck on the corrupted santa room. I have ???, lumps of coal, the snowman keychain, and artic fox carving in my inventory. I was thinking to use the coal with the snowman, but I only get the use option with the ???.

Sorry about that and for our late reply, that was due to the script for the door sending players to an older test version of the room. That puzzle is still somewhat buggy due to the shaders associated with that screen not playing the best with images but it should be completable with the rest of the game now!

The game still seems to be broken. Entering either of the 2 red doors soft locks the game. It's a shame though because I like the art quite a bit, and it sounds like you had some fun theme related ideas for it.

Thank you for your reply, we have been working nonstop these last few days and we have the game in a much more playable state! In our playtesting, we were able to reach both endings but there are still some minor issues we have been working through!
That bug was unfortunately due to our door code not sending players to the right room but that should be gone now.
Also thank you for your kind words about the art and theming! I'll be sure to tell the artist because they put their heart and soul into every single art asset the game uses!

We didn't get a chance to put any tutorials in the game that were functional when we sent it out unfortunately! I know there's a rule against adding anything in the voting period so we'll add a readme in the zip file and add a controls list in the description for now, but if the judges would prefer a list of controls in-game, then we can add something in the next patch today

Thank you! PotaJoe gave me the go ahead to say that you can add the controls in game if you want. 

Aside from that, I did have a bug report. I entered the hotel and went into the door on the right. I picked up the book and tried to leave the room with right click, but was unable to do so. Thanks again!

Thank you for contacting PotaJo for us! We have the game back in a playable state here, there are still some bugs here and there that we're working through and unfortunely we have not added the tutorial yet but we will make sure to add it in the beginning of the game hopefully tomorrow!
Also that bug you encountered was due to our teleporting script constantly sending players to the wrong locations and something in non-functional rooms! That should be fixed now but please tell us if any more issues arise!

When I go into the first bedroom and pick up the book I don't know how to leave, might be a bug? When I go into the second room, the screen is completely grey and I'm also unable to do anything. Tried both web version and desktop

Thank you for your patience, we've been having lots of issues with mainly the pause menu and one of the puzzles but the game is much more playable! We were able to beat the game in our playtesting but there are still issues with sounds not playing and the main menu giving a black screen that we're working through!

Web version shows a black screen. Downloadable version gets to a black screen after pressing New Game.

I think I pushed an update that gets past the black screen now. I have to fix a lot of bugs especially with the last sequence so we will be putting out another patch soon!
