How did you follow the theme?
At some point in times cats were considered evil. Which is simply not true.

Fun to run and jump around as a cat for a little. I admit I'm terrible at mazes, so thanks for not letting me go to a previous map. That would have been disastrous. Having a general direction that the exit is supposed to be might have helped it feel less arbitrary. A little more variation in game play could have helped too.

My favorite thing was the cute cat sprite, with the monsters following second. Finally, I'm not convinced that cats are not evil! Could it be that the enforcement was right all along?

Things I liked about this game:

  • Music and sprites are dark and horror-ific
  • Enemy pathing feels fair (when you can see them, that is)
  • Simple game, simple controls
  • Generous jump

Things I didn't like:

  • I can't tell where I'm supposed to go, so I just fumble around until I find an exit
  • Exit points for the first few levels are not clearly marked
  • The perspective makes it really easy to run into enemies because I couldn't see them before they were right in front of me
  • I'm not sure how this game relates to the theme. Sure, cats have been labeled "evil," but how does that tie to Satan or Satanism? Like, I know some historical context, but that's not really stated in the game clearly.

I do like that you chose to use cats, and the gameplay was actually fun. I agree with Hiddenone that the camera angles gave me some VERY close calls, but I actually didn't mind it because that added to the challenge of getting through the maps. I liked how the tension between maps kept rising, as the maps seemed to get hazier/darker as you passed through each level and the music became more distorted. I wasn't necessarily scared, but I did feel more claustrophobic as I got deeper and deeper through the levels.

The only problem I had was that the jump lagged for me on occasion, but that's not necessarily anything you can control, and it DID allow me to test if a Mario Bros stomp could kill anything... which it didn't. :(

Overall, I had a lot of fun with this one. I feel like the biggest strength in this game is the atmosphere. You're not timed and the enemies don't follow you, but you're still feeling pressured to get out as soon as possible. Well done!

Interesting take on the theme, playing as a cat is always a positive in my books. Though why didn't you go with a black cat for maximum 'evil cat'-ness?

I did have some trouble making my way around the maps because of the angle of the camera I kept accidentally walking into enemies. But it did up my fear levels since I didn't want to restart the level again. I also managed to jump from a roof walkway into one of the areas behind a blue fence and trap myself there, was there a way to get out or did I go somewhere I wasn't supposed to?
