After I made my character (which was fun!), I enjoyed walking around the huge area and trying to find chests and discover all the merchants. I got some folks on my team and grinded a bit.
To be honest, I got a really strong 'ESO/Skyrim' kind of vibe, in that I felt like the world was huge and I was meant to explore naturally, so I hope that's the kind of open world experience you might be working towards!
I didn't find another map than the main large, bustling desert city, and didn't see any quests.
Thank you for the submission ^^
PROS:
I like the music and the feeling of a crowded, yet lively city. It's probably one of best "Sandy" villages I have seen. It has potential.
CONS:
I was rather confused on what to do. I spent a good amount of time wondering the town talking to NPCs which did not say anything about 90% of the time. Also, I got killed, a lot. That's a big no no in game design, especially when the player starts a new game and all the enemies can one shot you. I recommend, removing all the random battles in town, especially for a first town. I even had a full party and we all got wiped out by one imp. Please adjust the balance. Lastly, even for a demo, some dev notes would help. Tell the player that because it's a demo, you can't do X, Y, or Z. I hope I didn't come off too harsh but even for a demo, I got killed way too fast just by simply walking in town which didn't make for a pleasant experience.
Thank you, you didn't come off too harsh at all! I apologize for the lack of communication regarding what can and can't be done.(x,y,z, etc.)
A mild horizontal slice that is lacking story/dialogue might be more accurate than "demo". This is roughly 2 weeks of work after extensive paper prototyping, while working on multiple projects with the intention of the majority of the projects being in the same IP. I really appreciate the good feedback and constructive criticism. Thanks for letting me know it has potential and complimenting the map. :)
I like the design a lot, especially the character creation and the bustling little worlds you created. Excited to see where this one goes.
Thank you very much! Until a newer version is uploaded, the first one is playable for some hours. :)
