This was a really unique idea; it was interesting having to multitask like that! I especially like how many options there were to consider with the NPC, it made it a lot more challenging to figure out what to do, especially with the clues. It was fun figuring it out, though! The timer in the background was a nice addition as well, I like how you've added the little things like that. And the background sounds and sound effects in general worked well with the game, they helped make things clearer too! Nice work on this game, it was fun!
Thanks for playing Hawenstien, hoped the controls screen had enough info... but glad you got through. It's my first game published and a gamejam sub. And you should know, I wanted to add more content and obstaces but the biggest obstacle was the sands of time in my face.. or our faces lol.
From the screenshots, it looked really promising, but unfortunately, I tried multiple times but couldn't get that far: My character could jump on platforms, but sometimes when I tried to jump again, it wouldn't work and a platform would carry me to the left of the screen. Perhaps I missed something about the game.
Oh sad you couldn't play through. The game ignores user input if the player's face is not happy or a red flash warning. There's a pause button when this happens at the bottom right of the screen that you need to click and choose an action to make the player's face happy and regain focus, thus regain control of your character. Thanks for the look though. :-)
Thanks for checking it out Ewokman! Hope you figured out and were able to play through. Dionwave also couldn't figure out what to do... so copying from my other reply :-) ..."The game ignores user input if the player's face is not happy or a red flash warning. Thanks Croatia for playing through & your clear review :-) I second your thoughts on every area of improvement you've mentioned and then some. My first game published, and game jam participation, should be enough to say I was wrapping things up in a hurry. I wanted to check my time-management skills, and truth be told, It could've been worse... lol. Thought of more tweaks, content and also randomising obstacles to avoid repetition but I was losing to the fourth dimension - time! :-)

Thank you Cakestorm. Glad you played through and found some fun! :-)
It took me a couple tries to figure out what to do, I had fun, but wished there were more obstacles.

I completely agree haha, you did great, the art was awesome, and the npc had good animation like wow.

But I really love the concept and the art!

Here are my thoughts after playing the game:
Good
Area of improvement
