I found myself wishing that there was some kind of audio/visual feedback for going through checkpoints - I was sure at first whether skipping them mattered or not.
I would have enjoyed seeing some more elaborate level design, with optional high-risk shortcuts and time extension placements geared toward allowing a player to make up for a mistake, but I did still find the two levels included to be fun!
Hope you had a positive experience using Godot, and thanks for doing a Linux build! :D
Thanks for pointing this out. I made a change to the water and it worked on my machine, but seems to have caused problems on others where it'll hang while trying to load. I put out a quick update now to fix it.
Yup, it works now! I thought there was an issue again as it hanged for a bit and went into "not working", but I just waited a few seconds and it worked! Cool game! Both of us have 3rd person racing games :)
Hey this was pretty nice to play. The jetski controls a bit sloppy, but it works out pretty well with how the levels are layed out. This was a lot of fun, thanks!
Really impressive game!! Especially for a small game jam. I really liked the boat’s physics, once I got used to it it felt pretty nice. And the 3D assets made by yourself? Very impressive!
A few things:
On my web browser, the graphics look very buggy:
Not sure if this is just my browser or what, I’m on Linux Mint 20.2 using the Brave browser. Regardless, when I downloaded the native build, it worked great.
Gameplay wise - it took me a bit of time to realize I needed to go through all of the green checkpoint thingies. I’m not sure if it was written somewhere and I just missed it, but if it isn’t, that’s probably a good instruction to write somewhere since I made it all the way through and it said I was still on lap 1. But once I figured that out, I finished the first level and it felt really nice!
Good lord that is glitchy looking! I tested it on Firefox and it worked okay, but loading it up on Chromium (installed on Fedora 34) I get the same as you. Works okay on both Firefox and Chromium on my Windows laptop though oddly enough... I'll need to see what can be done about that. For now I'll just make a note of the weird glitches on chromium based browsers on Linux.
Sorry for the double reply, but do you use Nvidia by any chance? I believe the issue is this https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/45532, and I've tested a build with these options turned off and it seems to render fine. I've uploaded that build now so you should be able to run it on Brave.

Hmm I downloaded the windows version but it freezes as soon as the godot splash appears..

Overall, good job on the game for sure!

Yep, I do have an nvidia card! Looks like that’s the issue - nice job figuring that out.
Edit: I see you uploaded an updated version - can confirm it works great now!
That looks like the drugged up version
Edit: I should've said "graphics quality: high"
