One week has passed, so it's time to share some early screenshots and sketches! Lots of good stuff is getting posted on Discord this year, but records of your work can remain a bit more browsable here in the community tab. I love having a visual comparison of the evolution that every game undergoes, so I hope to see a bit of what you're making too!

My own game is a tactical dungeon crawler themed around ghostly manipulation of units.

Sketches of the main cast. There are also two mystery characters that don't have a sketch because they have already appeared in an older game I made, who could they be?

Now it's your turn! Share a glimpse of what you have been making, or at least offer us a mysterious clue!

So lovely, so lovely. Glad to be back here in Strawberry Jam. And as always Impy is so good with the character designs. They perfectly mix cute, spicy and fantastical elements.

And of course I'm eager to see many other people share some of their progress here as well, both new people and old veterans.

Thank you, I'm always glad to see you here too Nekolag! I'm planning to work towards finalizing some of my art this week. I haven't made any animated rigs of painted characters since my very first Strawberry Jam 5 years ago, so I'm both excited and worried about trying that again in a new engine!

I myself am planning to expand on a recent small project I made for another Jam. The game would feature a small cast of casino bunny girls that host some light gambling games. Perhaps if you score big time, you might be able to romance with the bunnies.

Also here's my original sprites from that small project, most went unused.

The characters have a really lovely range of personalities! It looks like you're completely remaking the sprites into detailed animated models, will you release it as a new game or a really big update for Fortune and Fusion? I liked that the gameplay in the small version had a bit of a skill element to it with the timing of the wheel, I think that's a really good element to have in a gambling game. I'm looking forward to exploring more of the casino and meeting more bunnies!

This will be basically an overhaul of Fortune and Fusion. Meaning the idea will be the same, I think the gameplay will be similar, but I'm basically making a new version of this game.

Also I have just upgraded from using an old version of GameMaker: Studio and now finally use the latest release of GameMaker. As I adjust to using the new version, I should be able to make some new fun stuff, notably I can release browser and mobile games.

I like the new cast of girls that I will try them when they come out

Hey! You! Have YOU ever wanted to get gaslit and hypnotized by a pink twink on a whim? Well, give it a couple weeks (and your heart (and your mind) ) and your fantasies will become a reality!

This is technically my second project I'm attempting to make through renpy, with the other still on the way. My team and I have been hit a little hard with various life things, but despite that we're all having a lot of fun and we're well on track to finishing ahead of the jam's deadline!

I like the attention to background elements, the detailed scenery really makes the restaurant look like a vibrant and inviting place to be. I already get a good sense of what the character, story and the world may be like just from the sketch, which is a great sign for a narrative-driven game!

I'm making this in Picotron, tackling it one mechanic at a time.
Still a ways off from any actual sexy mechanics, but I've got the core game loop planned out, so I know when and where they're gonna happen.

Edit: I love how itch.io's video embedding barely works. It looks like now there's some embedding garbage at the end of my message I can't get rid of, so... Enjoy that.

The platforming gameplay and animations already look quite smooth! I'm often guilty of starting late on the sexy mechanics too, I usually get most of them get done in the final week.

Let's fuckin goooooo

(Please don't expect the same rate of progress in the following 3 weeks, lmao. Half of our team won't be available for most of those, so we crunched pretty much 24/7 in that time that we did have)

Very nicely done! Full 3D is always an ambitious art medium for a game jam, good job getting so many models done in just the first week!

Hey there! Very flattered to hear that becuase in fact there's only 1 3d model in the pic (used twice). The rest is my shader magic to fake geometry with our flat artwork.

I'm making a gladiator like game where you fight against your subconscious thoughts.
Just been grinding with a lot of tutorial watching and game loop theorizing.
But here is a rough sketch of one of the opponents made early on in the jam.

That's a really great concept! I don't think I've seen a fighting game where your thoughts are your own greatest opponent. I love the sketches, I hope that the gameplay design goes as smooth as it can!

hello all

I am using a lil library I created for myself in GameMaker that I use to make interactable animations. Here is what I have so far:

My idea is a short lil boss battle kinda game, inspired by these two bangers: https://xxylas.itch.io/cherry-bunny-demon-hunter and https://bossweapons.itch.io/battle-booba

Looks so smooth. Very nice. This is something similar I've tried working with as well.

nice!!! i like your style !

A big boss battle is a great choice for a jam game! I am curious to see how player interactions affect the animations.

thanks! me too, that's my favourite part of procedural animation :))) big fan of your games btw!
