Nice game :D the art is great, I love the knight and the animations, even if at some points it felt stiff but that's oki considering the time limit :D It fit the theme and I loved the changing weapons
I like the way that the game can be played indefinately, the music is ok although I recomend not to reset the music every time you die, it feels a bit frustrating and you can also make it funner by adding more types of enemies and weapons, good luck! :)
First of all congrats for finishing a game with a new engine! The gameplay loop is there and the graphics get the job done conveying what's happening on screen. I played for some time but i was not able to try the bow unfortunately, because the curse never changed my weapon to that one! The thing that feels best is the effect of the goblin beaten to a pulp. The sword feels very weird collision-wise, it would be nice to have a bigger sword! The shield is interesting, but also a little weird, an interaction with spacebar to fling goblins would have been awesome!
To wrap things, the game is not very funny, but you made it all by yourself using new technology. It respected the theme. I'm sure you can do a lot better when you get the hang of it!
5/10
Nice concept, but the game play wasn't as fun or seamless as I hoped.
Cool game, I think the pixel art is the thing that stands out the most to me. Programming and character movement fluidity is something that could be improved on. This is a good game for it being your first game using a new engine!
This game is great, but there are small tweaks I recommend you make, which you should be able to get in before the deadline if you really want too.
First off: audio effect upon goblins.
Second, the sword feels weird, with the cropped art and the awkward timing to hit the goblins. The rest of the weapon mechanics are perfect
Thirdly you should balance the weapons more precisely, as the bow feels too good and the sword feels weak, while the shield leads to a hard next weapon.
Overall this game is great, and is better than my first unity game (if you want to check it out it is on my profile *wink*). The music is long enough that it doesn't feel like 8 seconds on loop, and the art is fantastic. Honestly I think this has the potential to get top 3 for the jam.
thx for your feedback. i noticed some of what you talked about but i have been on my pc for the past 12 hours so i just wanted to stop😅
12 hours is intense. I like to split my 24 hour jams into 3 7 hour chunks.
no sleep for 24 hours? that's brutal!
