Nice entry. I like the idea, and could see this being useful if it gets fleshed out more. Otherwise, it’s always good fun just to doodle with spaceships lol

For the color help, have a look at this Godot shader: Palette Swap Shader

love 2 build a spaceship

I'd second the note about z-ordering issues, and if you're interested in learning how to edit the colours separately instead of just applying a global tint, I'd recommend looking up tutorials on "palette swapping"; the implementation will vary a bit by engine, but you can learn the general idea pretty easily even if it's from a different engine.

cool.

This is fun! I wish the placement grid was a little bit smaller, though -- I had trouble placing guns in the front center of hulls, for example. Or aligning wings & h-connectors with suitable edges of hulls.

Nice idea, I created big spaceship

Not bad. I had some fun making a huge mothership.

One issue I had was z-ordering. I placed a ship part over top another one but it ended up being behind that part (which didn’t look as nice).

Also some fine tuning would be cool. Some parts didn’t quite line up like I would have wanted them to or were impossible to place (such as the 1x1 parts on 2x2 parts).
