Which Theme from the list did you choose to implement in your game?

Killer In The Darkness

How did you choose to implement your chosen Theme in your game?
The game centres around having to traverse dark tunnels/sewers, whilst avoiding photosentive creatures, making them killers that can only hunt in the dark. The game was also meant to meet the grim aftermath's theme, but I had to cut the scene that showed it was a post apocalyptic world, and now that theme is only present in a small world building note.

Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
No

pretty neat, the megaphone mechanic was creative, although i beat the game using only the breathing mechanic, so maybe the ammount of tools at your disposal were a little overkill.

It has checkpoints which is really good, not having to start from the intro every time you die is underrated.

the monster itself though i didnt find scary which is a shame, but overall i enjoyed it.

A short and simple game that still manages to have a pretty scary atmosphere. You've accomplished a lot while only using few assets, well done!

The monsters seemed to be somewhat buggy, I got a gameover once when they were across the room from me, yet somehow still managed to damage me.

Anyway, this was a good game!

So far this is one the the best games I’ve played. The idea is well executed and the game is actually pretty fair when I turned the volume up enough to really hear the monsters at a distance. That really helped. At first I thought it was too tough and was going to say that batteries should be more available for the megaphone, but then that would take the edge off which would be bad.

I did have issues with the megaphone seeming to not work. If the creature was close enough, it seemed it was already in the attack state and that was that. I say that whatever the state the monster is in, it should flee no matter what.

More sound on the monsters would be good too. Being able to hear them from farther away would make the game scarier I think.

Also, when the player is getting hurt, some sort of indication on screen would be good. Maybe a red vignette on the HUD or something.

At this point I’m the first to review this game. WTF! From the screenshots it looks great, and it is. (for a game jam game, haha)

Anyway, good job!

Our game is very different from yours. I wish it were scarier, tbh. But, we’re still pretty proud of it as it is. And we’d love for you to try it out and let us know what you think of it! What did we get right? What could we do to improve it? We want to hear it all! Thanks!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

The megaphone should work at any point, so I must have let a bug creep in there, I'll look into it. I definitely need to put more time into understanding Unity's audio system so I can balance audio levels more for sure.

Ill definitely check your game out too!
