It’s really challenging, and I keep wanting to visualize things as having height but that doesn’t seem to explain all of the rules.

But I keep coming back to this. It’s super compelling.

Developer

Thank you! I really enjoyed your entry as well by the way. :)

I think this is a really neat mechanic, but I did struggle to keep track of what the player could interact with, without more key visuals. There is a pattern I know called a Bayer pattern that might work really well here to colour in the background with.

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback and suggestions; I don't think I'll change the jam version of the game but thanks for the tip on that background.

I think there's something buggy with the movement controls. The character seems to move multiple spaces at a time, and I keep dying running into walls. Just not sure how to play.

Developer

Thanks for playing! It's not a bug, those movement controls are the basis of the game.

Gotcha, maybe I missed it, but I think a menu with instructions, or just an explanation on the itch page would help. I'd  love to give it another try if I knew how to not die haha

Thanks for the feedback. It is definitely difficult, though I prefer for the player to figure out the rules by playing the game rather than reading text. It is an unintuitive idea though.
