This idea was neat and proposed an interesting concept at its core, between exaggerating and not making sales (from what I could tell), but of course in the game world there's not much of a reason not to lie. My immediate first place of inspiration to recommend is Papers Please, where you'd often have to make decisions that could save your own skin but clearly come at the peril of other people you could have helped out. Some clever writing setpieces that highlight how hard it is to actually be a good person could really sell this. That being said this was a good start to something so nice work!

That's an interesting comparison I wouldn't have thought of. Obviously the stakes are pretty different but it makes sense. The idea was that you would want to lie as much as you can get away with, but be penalized if you did too much (which can happen but it's kinda subtle and uninteresting). In insight I think it's not a great idea to make the player write boring stories to not lose the game, so I'd have to rethink it a little if I came back to this. Thank you!

Rating this makes me feel so unfair because I would really like to see this concept getting worked on outside of the jam. It has potential.

i really like the dilemma of being a factual journalist or being exaggerated to get more sells, btw i got 46 sells sticking 90% to the truth and getting bored of the cycle, i think you needed to create some challenges and risks with being factual, maybe making you lose sells or making the events that you get start to get more boring, like the shop or the sightings...

Yeah the plan at first sorta was that you'd be boring if you didn't lie and get in trouble if you lied too much, but looking back I made every choices you could make give you sales (except for one), which kinda defeats the whole idea.

This is a really cool idea, and quite a difficult thing to pull off so well done for getting this far. It's pretty fun as-is. And your Aya drawing is superb so +1 to visuals.

Code wise it wasn't very complicated to figure out (using Tracery as a base which really helps with this stuff), but trying to actually write vocabulary and text that has interesting variations is much harder than I first assumed. 

I like your interpretation of the theme, and I like the perspective as a third-person observing what's happening in Gensokyo while managing a news outlet. Your writing is also very easy to follow and it's entertaining to read.

With a risk management system than random strikes and more templates this will surely be an interesting text-based newspaper simulator.

So the idea was to have risk management mechanics, but they're mostly hidden and badly thought-out, so they might as well be random. That's something I'd rework entirely if I were to update the game post jam.
