Cute game! Swapping between dream world/real world was nice, and I had a fun time playing it. The final climb was my favourite part, lots of nice swapping between the two realms.

I'm kind of lost. The shoot button doesn't seem to do anything. Going right was a dead end. So I kept going left until I fell off the edge of the level. I restarted the game and found a few carrots.

Developer

Shooting is not avaiable in first level, right.

There should be platforms going up, on the right part of level, carrots are in hidden area, so have to look around this place for path.

Not sure where you could fall from level, there should not be such places
You can see map of the level here, if really got stuck https://imgur.com/tloIZnz

Thanks! Here is the path I took, where I fell off the level. https://imgur.com/a/Pk1IiQj

I found the beginning area easy to get lost in, with the terrain not having any distinctive shape and having no real sense of direction on where to go it was a bit confusing, but once I eventually got past that into the main bit of the game, what I got was a solid "puzzle" platformer (idk if puzzle is really the right word here but you should understand what I mean). Rather simple, but enjoyable.

The transition effect for moving between the two worlds is really slick, both visually and with the music crossfade, good job on that!

it feels a bit zoomed in but other than that we got some platforming thats good thats good

ive seen the concept a few places but it works here simple enough

I quite liked it! It's a good concept for a puzzle platformer, and there's a lot of room to explore the mechanic further, I feel. (If not only for Game Jam limitations.)

I adore dynamic soundtracks, so the two versions of the level theme was great. Given the "dream" theme and the way the versions sounded, it gave me Mario & Luigi Dream Team vibes.

My biggest suggestion, taking into account that this is a game jam game so many limitations apply, is that I would've loved a variable jump height. Meaning that the longer/shorter you hold the jump button, the higher/lower you go. The high jump height and low gravity make sense given some of the puzzles. (Would be unnecessarily hard to switch modes in midair if the gravity if didn't jump as high and fell faster.) But needing to jump full height to clear 1 or 2 block heights feels a little cumbersome, for example.

I really liked it overall, though. And it feels like a great use of the theme!

Developer

Good idea on short jumps - for some reason not thought of actually doing this, so done now, along with other fixes and additions

Nice. Interesting yet simple concept. I also like that the bgm tracks swap between the two modes too.

This game presents a creative way of exploring the Dream theme! The gameplay shows promise and the premise was serviceable, I just wish there was a proper ending scene where you save Tewi haha

Good job on the game!

The artstyle is really cute, and the first level shows promise! Unfortunately, I seem to get stuck at the first cutscene (after finding the bed in the carrot-background world), even on the Windows build (I'm running Wine, which might affect things).

Edit: The Linux build has been fixed! The game's pretty fun all around; the main mechanic is fairly solid, and the level design is fairly forgiving. My only real gripe is that I wish it were longer, but such is the nature of jam games.
