Thank you for making a danmaku game generous enough that I could actually finish! I'm terrible at danmaku, but this one clicked for me.
pretty solid danmaku script that hits the sweet spot of challenging-enough-to-stay-interesting-but-not-excessively-difficult for me, with nice music (left the game open just to listen to the menu music at some point); liked the aesthetics of the Sinister Dreamcatcher card in particular
one bug noticed - playing back a replay doesn't seem to stop the menu music, so both the menu and game music play simultaneously until the replay ends
It's functional and not ridiculously difficult or easy, which is a good start, but it just feels unfinished. Part of it probably has to do with the presentation: this amount of content would have been enough for a stage 1 boss if not for the placeholder dialog, so if you reframed the game as "Doremy fights something a kin to a stage 1 boss", you could perhaps have gotten away with it.
A very short game, and the story wasn't really there even though I felt like it was meant to be, but I have to commend your pattern design, I really like some of the spellscards and non-spells! The music and sound effects are also both really great!
the laser sprites in the final spellcard kinda made it hard to see when it starts. i dont know who the boss is
good short script
about the boss thing: yea we should've expanded on that in game; the poss is espoused to be a Yokai based on yume no seirei (named Seirei) who invaded the dream world and temporarily put Doremy out of power, and this game is Doremy claiming that power back.
Definitely a solid first Danmakufu script. Music is the strongest part, but artwork and danmaku is also quite well-done, albeit simple and unpolished. I've caught wind that the programmer (ABootToTheHead) only had 4 days to learn to use the engine, and for that reason I highly applaud how much they were able to learn and utilize in such a short time frame.
If you ever do plan to update this game, I would love to playtest it.
