Theme

Pinball City

Correlation to theme
Both songs evoke feelings of walking inside a pinball city. The daytime is optimistic, Nighttime is thrilling.
I used midi instruments to give an electric feel (lol not the song electric feel) The bounciness of the songs emulate the bouncing of the balls, and the feeling of playing pinball.

Daytime: There is almost a jungle-like quality to this track with so many polyrhythms/polymeters and the heavy emphasis on percussion and high reverberated melody lines. This is a unique take on the pinball idea, but I think that it would make total sense in the context of a game walking through a pinball town during the light of day

Nighttime: This track has a lot more edge to it that industrializes that original jungle-y sound. This pinball game seems a little slower than the daytime theme which makes me feel a sense of ominousness; maybe the pinball city is not very safe at night!

Overall I think your rhythmic and percussive work are the highlights for me in your composition and the more ambient nature fits a city background theme for a video game well. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Your values are really good on this, it's got an expansive oomph without being too overwhelming!

Both are really good songs, personally my favorite is nightime.

Great work!

Daytime: what a delightful wacky song! It has a nice interesting beat to it, and gives time for me to wrap my head around it. Feels really pinball-y. Not much variation, but plenty of it. And then again, we also have...:

Nighttime: I am used to night-time themes being a softer version of the daytime - this is an entirely different theme, which is interesting. It feels as if this is the time when the hardcores come out to master the games, soft colorful light lighting up the city. It could use a bit of variation, as the 'bleep-y' bass sound does hurt my ear after a little while, and the theme does become repetitive (it is 2:46 of almost no change).

Overall: nice quality, fits the theme (and city) well! Just wish there was a bit more variation.

Thank you, yeah I'm there with you with nighttime, I could have EQ'd it to make that bleeping less invasive and switched up the rhythms a bit. I appreciate your feedback :)

Both of your songs are really cool! The day theme especially made me imagine a futuristic city full of neon lights and hustling, bustling people on their way to play some pinball. The night theme felt a bit spooky almost, but I like it a lot as well. Great work!

the day and night idea is really cool! the day version feels very technologic, like sticking a motherboard in your head, and the percussion really gives off that pinball feel. the night time version is a bit too repetitive for me, but still very cool. totally different vibe, but still fitting

Thanks! Yeah I agree nighttime is too repetitive
