Really fun, letting the demon out for half a second to regain some stamina is exciting.

Funny idea, though maybe a bit too RNG-dependent? I think I would prefer if the demon was always heading for the nearest temptation.

In principle, I liked having two soundtracks, but given my strategy in later levels I would have preferred if they hadn’t changed so aprubtly. I get that it’s a bit much for a three-hour jam to implement dynamic scoring, though.

All in all, I think this has potential and I’d be interested to see the idea developed further. Well done!

"Money is the root of all problems" ;) . A nice entry fitting very well to the theme.

Great game and idea for the theme.

This is really cool, I just gotta commend you for it. It really captures the spirit of this jam, your expertly distilling the theme to its core and expanding upon it to a razor sharp end with minutes to spare.

The tiniest thing I could suggest, with the greatest returns, would be to devote some of your prep time (i.e. BEFORE starting the timer) to settle on 1) a palette, either from inspo reference or from the game dev palette website; and  2) potentially a mood board to guide your design. A little bit of vis dev goes a long way!

Of course, the "mad dash" look of the current visuals does have a certain charm. It was also wise of you to allocate the most effort to the demon's face, which is thoroughly striking. Great work!

(omg a comment from trijam’s best artist, seriously ur stuff is so good)

Thanks for the advice! I’m trying to build up a backlog of art I own so I can sorta sprite flip my own games.

Also, I’m a programming student rn, so I’m going with 6 yrs programming/mechanic design experience against like 2 weeks art experience.

Nice entry :) It really does fit the theme. I like the concept, I think it could benefit from some level design but its a solid entry for a 3H game jam. Congrats.

yeah, i was totally struggling to make art which looked "right", total timekiller.

One of my favorites so far. It did take me a minute to figure out the controls and the objective, but once I did, I was hooked! I also really like the demon-mode sound. Well done

Also side-note, it'd be nice if you listened for a keypress of the ENTER key to restart the level. I found myself wanting to use WASD and the right shift key, so I could more quickly and comfortably switch between demon mode and normal mode, but then had to move my hand to the mouse to restart. Minor feel complaint

omg its the one and only computermouth

Yeah, will probably add that once jam's over. Whenever I have a lot of fun making these I always end up updating it post-jam
