Played it, got jumpscared! :D One improvement that comes to my mind is that you could make it so that the player can hold down the direction key to go. But not 100% sure. Otherwise, very cool little experience! :)

Great art provided with the game. I also enjoyed the movement sounds. I didn't read the jumpscare warning - so i jumped off my chair ;-) and was scared

Please include a jump scare warning or the like into your description. I played with headphones and adjusted the volume so I could hear the planks creaking, and running into the first ghost was very unpleasant.

That aside I agree with the other reviews, nice art. Though as you took longer than 3 hours (that's how I read your description) I'll adjust the rating accordingly.

Have added a warning to the description, thanks for playing and taking the time to feedback and rate it.  Most of my Trijam entries I feel will end up taking longer than 3 hours until I learn the various workflows to become more efficient.

Really beautiful game, the sound effects fit nicely and the general atmospheric feel to it is good! Maybe a little too luck based, but super well polished, nice going

Thanks Katie for trying out my game and the feedback, I ended up spending most of my time on the artwork but it was my intention as I am trying to learn to draw and digitally paint in a certain art style for future projects. Started last month, loved your time lapse by the way!

Some things I was looking to add if I had more time.

  • Add chests to allow for health to be regained (hence the health bar added)
  • Enemies that move around within the levels
  • More variation of enemies
  • Add perhaps an attack ability
  • Additional levels that increase in difficulty

Maybe I should look to expand on Bu in the future, I quite like the style of it and there could be something in it if I can find the fun a bit more with gameplay aspects as you mention.

No problem, I'm currently trying to learn digital drawing and art too! ^ (it's hard xD ) but you have achieved a great look to the game, so keep at it! The animations were also really good ( thanks for checking out the timelapse btw :) )

These are good ideas, would be really interesting to see an attack type system in there.  Might also be cool if you have some sort of mechanism for either hinting which way to go or adding a bit of strategy to the direction you choose, maybe use those chests to include items like 'preview 3 tiles' or something of the likes and toy around with ideas that make you think a bit when playing.  I totally think you can expand on it and experiment with additional gameplay aspects, and building up difficulty as time goes on works well with a game like that - great start in any case :)

Beautiful visuals! The gameplay felt a bit random to me, like there wasn't much skill involved, but the level of polish on this game is excellent. Cool to see such strong art and sound design in a 3 hour jam :)

Yer completely agree as with other comments I ended up spending my time on the art rather than more focus on gameplay aspects.

Really appreciate you spending time to try out and feedback on my little game - is always a boost to keep on learning and create some more ideas for Trijams.
