Good job! :)

This is a really cool thing that demonstrates that my vocabulary is not as diverse as I thought. It's weirdly enjoyable.

Thanks :D

Sadly I didn’t have time to tweak the number of stars / length of the words so the difficulty would slowly increase, and yes I agree, usually the number of matches is a bit overwhelming!

Log of my work on this (in case you are curious what I spent my time on):

Before starting, I did some brainstorming on a whiteboard. In between working on the game, I did read some unity documentation (this is the first time I’m using Unity physics).

Saturday 10:20 - 10:50

  • Create unity project with two patterns on screen
  • Generate random m**k word patterns
  • Found and imported a wordlist

Sunday 22:10 - 23:00

  • Fix lag issue - optimize algorithm so it runs fast enough
  • Select word patterns that are challenging enough
  • Create a basic way of progressing through the game (using keyboard only for now), load new puzzles
  • add simple brick asset - assign physics to that
  • add simple scales - assign physics to that

Monday 9:20 - 10:55 this morning

  • generate bricks with results, make them fall down.
  • Move the scale to show what side wins
  • Add scores, show those on screen
  • Allow for input with mouse and/or keyboard
  • Final tweaks

Strange game, didn’t except to see that in the jam but it’s funny to imagine which words you put in the game . Gg for making a game in 3h :p

The answer is: all English words, minus the bad ones. At least, I hope I’ve managed that in the end :P
