aesthetically amazing
footsteps jumpscared me then the rest of the goings-on had me unnerved for the rest of my playtime.
Damn good. Feels like an art film made into a videogame, or a "kino" as the kids would say. Liked the composition and the story, and the first person section was impressive.
I have a feeling you were trying to make the racist girl sound kind of crude/rude and informal, kind of like Kuroyanagi. I noticed this almost at the end when I realized that she was speaking "street speak" ("You been" instead of "You have been", etc.).
I can't exactly put my finger on why, but it didn't really come across well. Maybe it's because she doesn't look the part, but I think it's something else. Like she doesn't always act like Kuro, and it ends up being confusing. Maybe it's because she's a bit too nice sometimes? Like I couldn't figure out what exactly her character was.
Also, please stop making your characters say the word "cringe".
Kino.

Right form the off, it felt like a mixture of Control and Paratropic, and it continues that atmosphere throughout. The world outside the four walls of the game experience, as well as the nebulous work of the 'Bureau', is also very interesting.
From an outside-in point of view, Radio Wave Bureau feels like a very personal project to me. With that being said, It still bleeds its messages, wears its heart on its sleeve. The conversations that go on in cars, travelling from point A to point B, are a very interesting storytelling method to choose - it tells a lot about people, about their thoughts. Combine the duo of interestingly contrasted protagonists, the charmingly sparse environments and sound design, and the honest conversations, you've got yourself something good here.
A very unique, atmospheric experience. I'm a smoothbrain who couldn't put all the pieces together, but the narrative and conversations feel pretty damn organic, and the visual and written imagery is really fantastic.
