Could Game Maker be used?

Could it? As long as the total amount of characters throughout all the codes in your project are <=560, is that valid?

Oh and obviously no sprites or backgrounds

Hi, this needs to be confirmed by eggnong but I guess GameMaker is ok, as long as the code stands in the 560 chars limit so that any GM owner can just copy & paste your code and get the intended game.

Hi Tony! Absolutely, use whatever engine you like! As long as your code is <=560 characters, and you aren't using any art assets, you're good to go! :)

Would specific fonts count as art assets?

Hmm, that's a question ... let's say that it's allowed. :P
