As an XCOM fan this was a treat to try out. I think the addition of having to overkill the remaining damage is interesting, but I couldn't differentiate between health and armor.

I think the first thing I noticed that could use tweaking is not knowing how much of your movement bar was used for a given move. I would move somewhere and have too little movement left and be left open. It was also unclear to me why some melee skills wouldn't work, even if I was next to the enemy. Some skills didn't seem to work. The enemy turn could also either play out slower or have more information to communicate what happened. I would also appreciate if we could know the enemy's effective range so we can position just outside them and such.

Overall, interesting base and ideas. Would like to see how you develop the ideas and after some polish!

Interesting idea. The UI needs work, it is hard to know how far is each movement step, you can't undo. Also, it is difficult to know which attacks are long range, and how much range they have. I didn't quiet get the armor mechanic and how sometimes damage lowers the armor, and sometimes doesn't do anything. Still an interesting demo. It looks like a nice starter for a turn based tactical game. Best of luck!

Overall I enjoyed this, although I couldn't beat it myself. It felt like there were a bit too many enemies, as they could easily just swarm you and burst damage you to death. Would also have been nice if, when trying to attack a target out of range, but could get there if moved, would prompt a move for you. The art was quite nice, but the ui felt a bit bland in comparison, which is fine for a jam game! Would have liked to have some of the buttons change color or something if I couldn't use them, such as when a character dies, or when out of AP. Nice game!
