Feedback

  • Nice art overall, cover art, assets and background art
  • Great paralax effect, funny death animation
  • Level design feels a bit to compact... Sometimes it's hard to react quickly
  • I think the game is a bit "gamey". I see the potential more on side of an exporative game, no points to gather but cool things to see and experience. Maybe also with a cute story. It gave me a kinda studio ghibil vibe with music and feel for the environment

Thank you for the feedback! I like the gamey feeling but I understand what you mean.

Yeah, sure you already built into that direction :)

Then maybe something like a pickup would also be nice to have something floating in the air :)

What makes the balloon descend? I can't figure out how to reliably do it. I thought it was the crank, but some flights the balloon is almost pinned to the top of the screen and runs out of time quickly.

Short answer: dock the crank and touch nothing to descend.

When you set the fire on, the balloon will rise up. When you set the fire off, it’s acceleration will decrease and slowly start to descend.

There is a fire level that decides the acceleration. When you press A, the fire level is set to 100%.

Using the crank, 100% is the top of the console and it goes gradually to 0% at the bottom of the console. I don’t mention the crank gameplay because I find it too hard to play. Better dock the crank and only use the A button.

If the balloon takes too much time to descend it usually means that you pressed A for too long. Try to do short press instead. Still, long press are useful to go over the mountains.

It needs to be a zipped pxd file which you have to compile using pdc.

Thank you for your comment. It was just a problem with the file name. It should have been Montgolfier.pdx.zip. I uploaded the same file with the new name.
