This looks like a lot of work done in just two days! I personally don't like the minecraft aesthetic, but I do appreciate the amount of visual work put in. Having the character models, their idle animations, making the different kinds of blocks. And the amount of levels you made gave me a good 30 minutes of fun :). I'd say most jam games tend to get stale after 5-10 minutes and not all of them can be fun, but this one definitely surprised me with the amount of content and depth to the puzzles. I'd love to see more :)
*I submitted the following in the feedback form in your game*
The controls were a little finicky at times. When I'd click it wouldn't register on the blocks all the time. I found the difficulty well balanced at times where I'd have to play a few times to figure out the different areas and how to move around (I think Back in Black was the name of my favorite level for this reason). Contrast to that I felt like the labyrinth level was really easy (or maybe I found an unintentional win condition). There was so much to it I figured there'd be a lot to do but there ended up being a hole in the floor in the second room for the hero which let the anti hero jump up and win without much use of the colored blocks.
Wow, thank you! What lovely feedback. I'm really glad you had a great time with the game! I agree the scope was maybe too big for 2 days jam, but still, I had 5 hours to get some sleep during the time xd
I agree about the controls. This was my first 3D project ever, so everything was new (and exciting!) to me. I pretty satisfied with the movement, I think that one was okay. The block detection is far from perfect, and I was unable to find a better solution in this short time.
Yeah, the way you solved Labyrinth is a bug, not enough playtesting was done (again, in the short time). I already have heard about it from a different player and I'm sorry about that. You can try to solve it without this glitch as well, there are at least 3 combinations that can put you through the level to the final room where Hero and Antihero meets. I think It's the most challenging one.
Cool Idea : )
I especially liked that you could see the other person and it was basically local-multiplayer. That's very impressive.
Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game!
Amazing game! I'm wondering how you did so many levels. The only thing that annoying is block picking (probably caused by z-fighting?).
Thank you! If you leave a rating here and feedback by clicking the link in the game's main menu that would be highly appreciated! I created the game in a way where I had level editor class, that I inherited into level class, co I could create levels quickly without any coding. Level 1-4 are here just to teach the player the mechanics. I had some general ideas on levels during coding the game, so I had all levels done probably in 10 hours (yeah ideas are the hard part) :D. Then I put them in order to keep game fresh and puzzles (hopefully) challenging.
Regarding problem you are describing, if you mean block selection - yeah it's far from perfect. This was my first 3D project ever, so most of the stuff here is completely new for me and I was unable to find a perfect solution. I hope I'll become better next try!
EDIT: Thanks for tip about z-fighting, I'll check it!
Keep moving towards 3D, great job. I've already left a rating several days ago or so.
Thanks!
Even if I didn't finish all the levels they were very fun and well constructed. Very cool to play ( •⌄• ू )✧
Hello! Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you liked the level design.
Very polished puzzle game, so much done in so little time, loved the color mechanic...great job to you and your team!
Yeah, it's not that polished! :D
But I'm glad you liked it!
Top shelf.
Thank you! If you have 2 minutes of your time please dont forget to fill in feedback form as well! (link in game menu or here https://forms.gle/tjVaqRcrrXPjEaxc8)
The color mechanics provide a lot of depth, the controls are tight enough to allow percise platforming, and the music is a perfect fit. Very impressive on all fronts!
Thanks for the words of praise. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Very impressive and super creative! Impressed you were able to get this much done in such a short amount of time, too. Bravo!
Thank you for your kind words! Yeah, it was two concentrated days with very little sleep. This was my second jam and overscoping was again my problem :D
That's a LOT of work for 48 hours.
Respect.
Thank you! Yeah, I slept like 4 hours those 2 days. But that's part of why I like to make games in the jam. It's like one month of work stuffed into two days.
EDIT: And of course I had great help by my TWO team members who made awesome assets and music. Without them, I wouldn't be able to finish it.
This game is pretty good. However the sound effects are obnoxiously loud and irritating, to the point where I had to stop playing specifically because of them. I did like the ingame feedback option though.
Thanks for playing the game! I did implement functions to control sound volume, but I had no more will to implement the options - so only way right now is to adjust it externally. I'm sad it was the deal breaker for you. But glad you gave us a feedback.
