nice visuals and atmosphere, the game creates an excellent creepy vibe so good work on that, but the game is kinda hard.

This game is really funky and cool!! The only criticism I have is that the games resolution sorta betrays the game, if you stay in the middle you only need to move up or down since the side arms can't reach you so maybe it'd be better if the screen was a square or there were some longer arms that trip you up! I really like the death how it cuts out as you explode and the button and voice at the start reflect the game atmosphere well!!!

JUST GOT WHY ITS CALLED ASCENSION, all the arms reaching for the light, very clever!!

Having no indication for where the arms were coming from made it very random as to when I died, there simply wasn't enough time to react. I do like the idea and the background art though!

The atmosphere was great, it was horrifying. I died a few times because I didn't know where the arms are going to appear at. Also I didn't like that the game automatically makes it full size when I just start running the game.

Well done on the creepy atmosphere. The game feels a bit unfair since there is no way to tell from where the evil arm will pop out next. Maybe add some kind of visual warning sign?
