this was a wild ride, but great work!
The dolphin pushing me just as I'm about to collect some mushrooms, the art, and that fact that I had no idea what to do and actually restarted the game twice thinking something had bugged out and the controls to push the light weren't working properly. All in all, 10/10 would recommend xD. Jokes aside, honestly, nice game. I did enjoy it and it was a nice concept with the theme. I'm most impressed by the fact that this was made in pygame and not some game engine. And the music is actually pretty nice, began to enjoy it a little while getting shoved around by the dolphin.
I suppose for future games you could focus on trying to make the game more 'communicative'. Basically letting the player know what to do in the beginning so that we get a general direction of where to go/what to find.
Thank you!
I can appreciate the silly art style, but it just didn't jive with me. Also really needed a bit more of an explanation on how to play and the controls. I had no clue what to do, but I could also just be missing something.
I'm sorry to hear that!
The idea was to find a "secret" torch path, and then a person would tell you about collecting mushrooms under the large normal torches.
You're not the first to tell me that, so for the next one I'll try to add a better way to guide players through the game.
the art in this game brings me joy
