How does your game utilize the limitation and theme?
My game utilizes the theme by incorporating a time loop mechanic. Whenever you fall off the map or pick up a collectible, a rewind effect activates and you are transported to the beginning of the level. The limitation plays off this mechanic by allowing the player to take different paths and access further parts of the level as they gain powerups such as movement speed increase and new abilities, or trigger events that alter the level's layout.

If your game includes any of the optional challenges, select them below:

Theme Party

Use a theme and/or limitation from one of the past 8 Bits to Infinity jams in addition to the main theme

If you did any of the optional challenges, explain how they were used:
I did the the Theme Party challenge with the limitation "Game encourages speedrunning" from the Speedrun Game Jam. My game is based around reaching a specific point in a level within a time limit. The objectives are placed in a way that forces the player to optimize their movement to reach it in the time limit. Also, the movement is designed to be snappy and responsive, giving the player more control over their movements. The level design complements the snappy movement system and allows more advanced players to optimize their routes by incorporating small skips and harder jumps.

The idea's really cool and i'd like to see more of it. I have one bit of feedback i'd like to give you tho, the 2 jumps before you press the button where if you hit the ceiling you fall, i'd personally avoid those especially in the first levels where the player hasn't gotten used to the controls and feel of the jump yet.

Really cool use of there and back and invested into the previous Jam themes which is not easy and I hope you get the credit for it! I like the rewind, which reminds me of a speedier version of Braid. I think they have the rewind as a collectible. Nice colour palette too, looking forward to more levels. Great job.

Thanks for the shout out in Discord, any game feedback on my game site would be much appreciated.

Loved the game, I just wish there was a little better indicator of where to go. As you will see, I pulled off some crazy platforming thinking I was supposed to get to the end of the level without realizing I was supposed to hit the button. Great game though!

Very fun platformer game, love the idea of rewind it was very well executed. The jump was hard to make at all times because it was missing a Coyote jump (which allows player to jump during a small extra amount of time after player starts falling). Overall, great game! congrats on your entry.

It's a good jam game and a unique take on the theme! I just hope there was a button to speed up the rewind process cause it's kinda get a little bit annoying that you have to watch it over and over. But overall, I enjoyed playing it and though it was a unique platformer x speedrunning :)

Thanks for the feedback, I definitely will try and think of a way to speed up the rewind process while still keeping its charm . :D

I really like the time rewind mechanic, but I feel that you should be able to press a button to speed up/ skip the animation. Overhaul I really like the game and the rewind mechanic :)

I'd appreciate if you played my game if you have the time

I love platformers where you iterate and iterate until you have the perfect run to complete the stage! This one was done really well and the levels were tuned perfectly for the time you are given. I just wish there were more levels! Great submission, cheers.

I enjoyed this because of the ending. The mechanic of rewind is done very tastefully also.

Fun game :) I really like the idea behind this especially the speed aspect as reiterating through the level allows you to get faster and faster at the early stages! One thing that might be handy is a jump buffer that allows you to press the jump button a small bit before you land which makes more precise jumps possible. Overall though it's fun to run through as fast as possible :) Oh also I really like the colour pallet used

Thank you! I'll definitely look into adding a jump buffer, I completely forgot that games had those when I was making it lol. Thanks for the feedback :D
