Is it okay to not join the Discord servers?

I'm 13 (my account is under my dad's email and I have my parents' legal consent) and I feel like I'm still too young to join the Discord servers. However, on the "Enter" section it says I must join the 8 Bits to Infinity and Vimlark servers.

Is this only optional, or is it required to really join them?

I dont think you need to join the discord. You can still find some useful information there but other than intrdoucing yourself you dont need to talk anything unless you want.

I joined the Discord and I wish I could chat with you guys, but my parents forbid it :( I just joined so that I can view the announcements for the jam. But eitherway thanks for the invite :)
