Yeah!  Another Godoter!

First off the art is really good!  The chicken is cute and the upgrades make it cuter!  The sounds and music are good too!  The concept isn't too bad either.  I half thought of doing something similar.

My only negative feedback is that I never got very far from the ledge.  And I really tried to flap fast with the spacebar.  Maybe each flap should propel the chicken further?

I also noticed that the move forward key was "D".  Seems like we have a WASD fan here.  Well, I would suggest always supporting the matching arrows keys too for those that are left handed.  It's easy to do in Godot in the input mappings.

Hi!

This game isn't bad but I feel there are a lot of little annoying things that could have been done in a better way:

  • I would say it's quite frustrating at the beginning as you're trying to figure out how to reach a longer distance since you're falling super fast and can't keep up until you finally get your hands on some better upgrades.
  • The jump mechanism is a bit weird, there's like a strange cooldown which makes you fail if you're not perfectly synced.
  • Once you get the 30k plane (or even the 80k) and are better at jumping, it's almost impossible to fall.
  • Background feels very empty to me: there are a few mountains and then it's a solid color. There's no visual or UI indication about your current height despite the stars you can collect and the lil arrow pointing to the moon.
  • There is a bug with the 80k plane: I purchased it and still got my money untouched.
  • I wasn't able to buy the 50 stars upgrade, I don't know why (I got 70).
  • We're clearly missing some feedback when interacting in the shop (sound, effects, something).
  • The "boss" implementation is a bit light to me here: it is just here at the beginning during a cutscene, then it's gone. Same goes for the "on the edge" theme, you explained that it's because you jump of a mountain: I feel it's not enough, it could be part of the actual gameplay somehow.

Hope it will help!

Thank you very much for composing this comment. It's very helpful and informative!

The background IS empty. I thought that placing more stars would fix it but it really didn't...

When the jam is finished I will fix both bugs especially the star upgrade,  because you really need it

You are right sound in the shop would be nice

Concerning the theme,  when I started making the game I had some more things in mind, but the result is not what I had planned :P

Cute game! The chicken is adorable, and I liked that you included cutscenes.

The stars seem to be placed to reward you for mashing the spacebar. Once I figured that out, it got a lot easier. Not sure if that's what you want?

The "moon this way" arrow was very helpful, once I figured out what it was.

I liked the feeling of gradually upgrading my vehicle.

I' m so glad you liked it!

I was aiming for that feeling, so your comment makes me feel like I succeeded
