Help with issue with built game on valve index

I finished my game this morning in Unity and I tested everything with my HTC Vive. When I sent my game to one of my friends so he could test it, he used a Valve Index and couldn't get his controllers to work!

I have OpenXR enabled on my XR Plugin Manager and both Vive's and Index's controller profiles enabled. I'm also using version 2020.2.1f1

Have any idea of what could be the problem? In the worst case scenario, I think my game will need to be played exclusively on an HTC Vive :(

did you add binding for knuckles? Window -> Steam VR Input -> Input Bindings then change the selected controller to knuckles and configure it. Make sure to clock Replace default bindings when done.

I think I know what you mean but I'm not using the SteamVR Plugin, was that something I needed to use to make it compatible with the valve index?  I did everything I needed to do with the OpenXR Plugin and didn't have to configure any bindings like that for the Vive controllers, just reference 'trigger' and 'grip' on the XR controller components.
