Really nice looking, great shaders and graphical style - hands are really well done and the subtle push back when interacting and pushing against things is really nice. I'd say the reflections were a bit too sharp, personally I'd add some smoothness in there to make them look more realistic.
I felt the audio was lacking some ambience sounds, so a constant low-level engine noise, or some incidental background noises. It seemed odd when sound fx and voice would suddenly come on, then silence for the rest of it.
The on-screen HUD is a little hard to read, personally I think I would've preferred that as something to read in the world, or as a wrist attachment instead of being fixed to the head. It serves it's purpose, but it seemed a bit too intrusive being there all the time.
Also, I would have liked to have the option for snap-turn, the low-gravity and smooth turn was a little sickly. Unfortunately, I didn't finish it as the low-grav and the navigation was a bit too sickly for me.
However, the map is a cool addition and I especially like it when it appears/disappears when in proximity. The game itself has a great atmosphere and great VR scale of the world. I enjoyed playing it, and it was a shame about feeling queasy after a while...
I had to stop pretty soon due to motion sickness. If you added teleporting I'd probably be able to play just fine. I like the concept, and the graphics are really nice. Untimed mode would be good too, for us wimps. At one point I fell out the side that's just to the left of the start, so I counted myself as having escaped. :-)
I use Hexabody as well and they provide a prefab canvas to allow the user to adjust some things like snap turning. I really need snap turning to not get sick. I played yours anyway and just tried to tap the thumbstick when I needed to turn. I think I got all the way to the end, but maybe it wasn't the end because nothing happened. There was a fire at the end of the corridor I thought was last... anyway I was pretty dizzy by that point so I had to quit.
Oh no... Thank you for literally suffering through my game. I'm currently trying to improve the movement in the no gravity sections which should be up tomorrow and then I'm going to build a full settings menu which will have all the snap options. I would have liked to have had that done by the end of the game jam but this is my first game so I'm still a bit slow at things, sorry.
I died twice to the malfunctioning airlock, and was bemused to fall out and then downwards of the space station.
Space, man! Turn off that isGravity bool so we can Dutchman off in whatever direction! Any direction but down!
Kidding aside, it was a nice level layout, and I liked the maps and the use of both 'suction' (airlocks) and 'lower gravity areas' I would have appreciated a faster locomotion method, and more low-zero gravity scenarios, rather than walking at a steady pace while the space station 'self-destructs' around me. The hand with the green security band was a nice touch, but didn't get so far as to find the red key.
I appreciate you giving the game a try and the feedback. There is actually supposed be a trigger that resets you back to the other side but it is bugged at the moment, sorry about that. I'll be working on that today to get it fixed. Clicking down the left stick does let you run so it would probably be helpful to have some kind of control scheme or something like that in the description of the game and in game somehow to let you know. I'll add it to my todo list. Thanks again for playing!
I struggled a little bit to figure out what to do. I made it to the room with the push button on the post, but when I pushed it, I just started moving around without any control (I'm not sure if that's a bug). Moving was a little uncomfortable.
Thanks for the feedback and I totally agree with you. The movement when there's no gravity needs a better way to move around. I was thinking about adding some form of jetpack that helps propel you around when there's no gravity. I'll be playing around with some ideas this week.
