This VR Jam is a week-long game jam focused on VR or AR/MR games and is open to all skill levels.
This jam is for fun and to increase your skill level in developing VR games! If you need help making your game, want to find teammates, or need to show off your project, do a post in the Skool community (https://skool.com/vrcreatorclub)!
This time around we're going to be a bit more competitive! This jam will only be a week long and unlike last time, you must start on a completely new project.
The theme for this jam is "lasting". Something enduring over a long period of time. Feel free to be creative with your interpretation!
Will be announced at the start of the jam (so you can't cheat). The theme is something to use as inspiration. We're the most creative when adding constraints like this. It's loose and open to interpretation. BUT will be an element of the judging, so keep that in mind.
At the end of the Jam, a rating period will last seven days. Voting is open to all submitters and contributors. Your game will be rated on:
Enjoyment - How much you enjoyed playing this game? Concept - How exciting or unique the game is. Presentation - How well executed the game is. Theme - How well did this game stick to the theme of the jam?
Will be announced soon!
๐ RULES/FAQ
Read the rules. Not reading the rules is not an excuse for breaking them.
Keep game content clean. No NSFW content, offensive content, or excessive gore/violence.
Answer submission questions honestly. You will be prompted to answer a few questions when submitting your game. Please answer them to the best of your ability. Giving vague answers is a great way to set off red flags.
Any games that do not follow the rules will be removed from the jam without warning.
Can I submit more than one game? Yes, but I would advise against it.
Can I submit a game I already made? No. For this jam we are only accepting new games.
Can I make changes during the rating period? Yes, but you must keep the original build from before the deadline available..
What engine can I use? You can use any engine or framework you like. You can even make your own if you want.
Can I join my team? Yes! There is no limit on team size. Find a team in the Skool community if you want!
Do I have to follow the theme? Well, technically.... no, but your rating will suffer. Working with limitations helps your creativity, so try to run with it!
I have code and assets from other Jams I wish to use, are these allowed? Yes! If you have the right to use it, anything that wasn't explicitly made for this particular jam is allowed. This jam, in particular, isn't strict on the "build it from scratch" ruling. All assets must be noted when submitting your game.
Help! I couldn't submit it on time; what do I do? There will be an announcement on the Skool community page about how to submit late if you missed the deadline.
Feel free to use Valem's project to get started. It contains a basic menu with Scene Transition, Audio Manager, and a main scene with some preconfigured interactable. https://github.com/ValemVR/VR-Game-Jam-Template Of course, using this starter project is optional, but it can save you some precious time during the jam. ๐ช
