Nice implementation of the theme, I wish when you died there would be some permanence in the world for your past deaths, showing future generations you are playing what killed people in the past.
Cool take on the theme! The game is simple but executes on the idea well. I think it could have used a bit more of a difficulty curve -- maybe the bad mushrooms aren't an instant kill but instead hurt you, maybe the life bar ticks down slower at first and then speeds up, maybe newer types of mushrooms are introduced over time -- but the core is fun.
A nice take on the theme! Memorising the different mushrooms was a fun challenge.
It could do with a more balanced difficulty curve. Maybe introduce the mushroom species gradually, and slow down the spawn rate. I ended up with mushroom clusters so dense that I had no idea which one I'd be eating.
It would be good to show the final score on the endgame screen.
The art is pretty, if a little stylistically inconsistent. The music felt appropriately "caveman-ish".
I enjoyed the graphics and concept! The artwork is nice and the fact that the mushrooms have different effects is cool. The gameplay needs to be tweaked since some mushrooms overlap. Nice Job!
I would appreciate your feedback as well!
Interesting idea, liked the aesthetic and music. It might be better when you eat a good mushroom that it only increases your health by a certain amount rather than back to max healthy. Also if your going to use a score mechanic always good to put a high score mechanic in order to motivate people to play on. Good job!
Thanks for the feedback. Could you not see the high score then? It's top right of the screen (see screenshots).. maybe it's a resolution issue?
It's there during gameplay, but when you die, you can't check what your score was.
The amount of mushrooms unfortunately makes it a bit confusing, which led to me looking out for only one specific kind I was sure about and trampling all the others. Also it's hard when they are close together.
It's a nice idea for sure, just a bit hectic. I still felt motivated to keep going (and if my highscore would be displayed anywhere after I'm done I might have been just that bit more motivated).
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
