I  got to the bottom of the mystery! Cool game! I think it was the prettiest text adventure I've played in a game jam and the story was right up my alley with multidimensional wars and time loops. Would love to read this in a book! Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I wasn't sure the story was that good because I didn't even plan it out before hand, I just came up with it as I filled in the dialogue.

I like the little touches on each house and trying to use those and the dialogue cues to guess the right responses. I was all settled in to try and figure out how to maximize my candy, which I assumed was the goal of the game, but that left turn was a pleasant surprise and excellent twist!

This was a fun little story romp and welcome break from some of the more intense action/platformer entries in the jam. And kudos to you for making a great game that worked for two jam themes as a solo dev. You should be proud. This was great.

Developer

Thank you so much! I am glad you liked it. It was my first time trying pixel art and a story game, so I wasn't expecting to get so much praise. This is nice.

Nice graphics and an interesting way of story telling, good fit for the theme.

Not sure why you did the arrows to go to the next house though, I think a button on the screen would be more obvious.

Great little story!

Developer

Yes, I agree. I thought about doing a button multiple times, I don't know why I didn't change it. Thank you for your kind words.

Dialogues are funny and some of the houses are really well drawn :D

Good take, I was confused why it was Halloween themed, and I saw you submit it twice, lol, maybe I should do that too.

also, if you have time can you rate mine too

Developer

Thank you! I didn't know I submitted it twice, I just updated it a few times before the jam ended to fix some bugs. I will definitely check out you game later today, possibly on stream!

Thank you! This was my first time trying pixel art, so I am glad you liked it. I did try to put a few laughs in the dialogue.
