To think this game was made in 48 hours is absurde ! Great game i love the art and the music, the game is a little too diffcult in my oppinion, but that's the only "complain" i have.
Would love if you could give me feedback on my game, it's only my second ever made !
Thank you! I had a great time working on the art and animations for this game. And I think the sound guys, sure did a great job, Its a shame that we had to cut so much content, we're hoping to make a "director's cut" version of the game somewhen in the future!
Excellent artwork and sounds, the gameplay itself is really fun and I spent some good time playing it. I just think the tree enemy could have a more visible hit, because sometimes I was hit by it and didn't notice. Overall a really good game.
I'd appreciate if you could play our team's game -> https://itch.io/jam/yogscast-game-jam-2020/rate/845483
Thank you for the feedback! and yeah the hurt and attack animations of some of the enemies would sometimes skip over each other because we didn't have time to implement a balance between showing both, I'm sorry!
First of all, the art for this game is awesome! It is really impressive for the limited window of the game jam, as is the music and sound. The visual and audio elements alone make this game stand out. The gameplay is also pretty good, and the controls seemed easy enough to learn. The only issue with the game is that all of the combat ends up devolving into the same cycle of walking in to attack, stepping back and waiting for the enemy to attack, and then repeating. I think that this happens because of the slow nature of the enemies, so I would be curious how the game would play if you introduced a faster enemy that you have to deal with differently. Aside from that, the game is well executed, and it kept me engaged to the end. Well done!
Our artists and sound designers were amazing! Definitely agree on the gameplay points, we hope to learn from responses like this and make a more refined version after the jam.
an amazing game for only 48 hours of work.
Thank you!
Fantastic lil game, esp for doing it in 48 hours. I think my only complaint is that the confetti cannon is a little unintuitive range-wise, perhaps the blast could be a little more explosive? Great job.
Completely agree, wish we had gone for a more developed shotgun and gave a proper tutorial! Thank you for the comment!
The art is amazing! I love the fact that snowmen's carrots move when they die! a great game!
Please check out our entry! https://itch.io/jam/yogscast-game-jam-2020/rate/843977
Thank you, I had great fun making the snowman's animations
Good game! Really polished for the 48 hours and the art is lovely :)
Thank you so much!
I love the artstyle! It can be a bit difficult at first to tell that you're damaging the enemies, and I'm still not sure what the little red gift boxes do, but it's a really nice little dungeon crawler!
Thank you! The little red gift boxes are enemies that run away and hide. If you kill them in time they drop an item!
Love the art style and especially how polished the main menu looks.
The game itself is a bit confusing. Had no idea what to do at the beginning and that my left click shot is limited. Enemies feel a bit boring and it's hard to judge your range.
The music however is amazing as well. :D
Can completely understand your point! We had plans for a tutorial introduction, some story, and more, but alas, the crunch time came and we had to prioritize fixing the features we had. Thank you for the comment!
Obviously this is good, and I don't want to post a list of nitpicks. The biggest problem I can come up with is that it's kind of hard to judge the range of your attacks (and your enemy's attacks)... and figuring out whether you can reach a guy or not with your melee blast and whether they can reach you is kind of the whole game.
For example, if the snowmen could only attack in straight lines or something that would make the game a lot more predictable.
Also, tell whoever made the music that I love the music! 🙂👍
Totally agree with this.
I let them know! I definitely agree that the gameplay could visually represent the attack and it's range a bit better. Also the snowmen already only attack in cardinal directions, but they should probably freeze in place before the shot!
bery cool well done hryBoggies

High quality game, with great graphics. Has a stardew vibe visually mixed with an old school Zelda play style. S Tier plays
Pog, was so Fun working on this.
