I played this for faaaar longer than I should have, so you've done something pretty great with gameplay there.

I enjoyed that the mechanic was simple yet quite diverse in how it could be used, especially since your own defences can hurt you, so you can't (or at least shouldn't) build just a giant death circle or stand in the middle of a cluster of traps.

I enjoyed that you leaned into your kid making the sound effects, it gives your game a charm that wouldn't be the same if you had "realistic sounding" sfx

Good job!

Thanks a lot Mucusinator! What was your best score? I have to implement a leaderboard, I'll do this after the jam, I'll connect an API & a database :) A coworker of mine managed to kill 2160 zombies, but I have to make the game harder with more challenges over time :)

*Whew* I just finished a 1 hour 15min session with 1693 kills.

Yeah at a point it becomes less "running away from zombies" and more "don't get spiked by my own traps" XD

Congrats on your score ! I think I have to make the game a bit more difficult or a least make some gameplay variation because at some point you can stay in you trapped bunker waiting for zombie to walk on your traps. I was thinking of the fact that you have to repair traps or taht some enemies can throw something at you so that you can't just wait in your bunker...

Thanks! I tremble at the thought, but maybe some leaping zombies with a long charge up time could work? Provides a threat by jumping near the player but gives an indication a long time where they are going to jump beforehand, makes the player have to move.

Thanks for your ideas, I take it! Like if zombies have the right to avoid a single trap?

Yeah! makes em a bit more dangerous in the short term til they double layer the spike traps
